Need some advice...2005 F-150 4.6 liter

Featured Replies

So guys I had an accident a while back and total loss my last truck and now have to buy another and wanted to move up to a full size ride for the V8 and towing capacity. Now I have a found a 2005 F-150 STX single cab 4X4 with towing package and the 4.6 liter V8 and was wondering what you guys thought about this motor and would be enough to tow a 16-19 ft aluminum or fiberglass boat?

I would rather have the 5.4 liter triton in another ford but this truck is selling for a such a good price that I don't know if I can resist ;D -Eddie

That 4.6 has all the coconuts you need to tow a 16-19 foot aluminum or glass without problems.

I drive a 1997 f150 V8. It pulls my heavy 18.5ft Triton 186 Sport alluminum w/ a 90hp motor just fine.

Buy the truck and tow away, it will be fine.   I pull my boat with my Chevy Uplander van with a 6 cylinder.

Since it has the towing package the F150 will do fine.

It will pull that boat easily, you might forget its back there

My fishing partner 2 years ago had a 98 with the 4.6 that he's been towing his 18ft Triton with for about 8 or 9 years now with no problems.

I have an 02 4.6 F-150 with over 100,000 miles that I pull a 19 foot Ranger. I have had no problems.
