  1. definitely don't go to smithville haha. I'd make the trip to table rock come late october, early november. Maybe even try Taneycomo if you're looking for a little different experience. It has awesome trout fishing, and can be decent for bass in parts.
  2. What area of KS or MO are you gonna be in?
  3. I have an 04 with a 4.6L, and it tows my 20ft Champion just fine.
  4. That's a bargain! :
  5. I need to get out to SMP when this 30mph wind stops, there's going to be one hell of a bite soon.
  6. I fish SMP a lot, but I'm stuck on shore. If the sun stays out this week, then it might trigger the best bite of the year there, prespawn. There are some flats with a little bit of grass on them, and you can catch a lot of fish, just burning a spinnerbait or using a suspending jerkbait across them. Once it gets closer to spawning, i'd start to fish the south side coves, I know you've probably read that bass like to be on the north side of the lake when they are approaching the spawn in the spring, but the structure/cover on the north side isn't any good. The coves on the south side are full of brushpiles and laydowns, and there will be a lot of fish around them.
  7. I'll be fishing in this tournament as well, i'm assuming its the same one, unless there is more than one next weekend. I'm going to see how the tournaments go this weekend before I make any big decisions on what i'll be using.
  8. No, I hate Kansas. I promise you kansas will get knocked out before the final four. I dont care if they have a 25 year old Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kobe Byrant, Yao Ming, and Shaq on their team, if Self is the coach they will never do anything. Self is one of the best recruiters and one of the worst coaches in college basketball. AS LONG AS THEY HAVE BILL SELF AS A COACH THEY WILL NEVER MAKE THE FINAL FOUR. Remember last year, they made it to the second round and lost to Bradley. I remember last year that they lost to UCLA. Anyway, sounds like some illinois resentment to losing bill self.
  9. i dont know how good shawnee mission park will be after dropping the water level about 8 feet. ive only been there a few times. kill creek is a better choice with or without a boat 85% of the time. SMP is a lot better after they dropped the water. You can walk all the way around the lake to the south side, where its less pressured, and there is also better cover over there to fish. Since they drained it, I have been catching atleast 3x as many fish as before.
  10. I have fished there weekly for the last couple years. It has its good times.
  11. Thanks, those topwater fish were right at sunrise, 7-7:30 am.
  12. This is a video from last week. Still has some topwater action, and also some jigs and spinnerbaits.
  13. I'm working on a couple new ones right now. I'll post them when theyre done.
  14. Got this footage last week. A pretty bad cold front came in, but we still got some decent fish.
  15. Now Avid, I am a teenager and I do not appreciate you grouping all teenagers like that. I do not say that all senior citizens are senile, and can not drive the speed limit. Or did I just say that? 8-)
  16. The easiest way to catch longnose gar is with a piece of nylon rope. Just take about a 6 inch piece of nylon rope, and unwind it, so its all frayed up. Attatch it to a swivel with a wire tie. There are many ways to fish it.... steady retrieve, jigging it on the bottom, or like a jerkbait. The gar are attracted to the rope, and when they bite it, their teeth get tangled in it. You don't need any hooks.
  17. We were fishing in Northeast Kansas. Most of the fish were caught between 6-12 feet deep.
  18. This is a video I made of me and some friends catching fish off of docks, using texas rigs, and jigs. My boat is too small to film two people on, so it had to be filmed at a wierd angle. It was a decent day, a little slower than usual, but we still got some decent fish. I'm not sure why it lost quality when i uploaded it on the internet, so its a little blurry. You can make it full screen also. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6187106172868472976
  19. you're* reel*
  20. Man, i wouldnt have changed my subject title, i thought it was funny it got me going, if guys dont have a sense of humor they need to lighten up a little bit
  21. How well do you do at Shawnee Mission? Shawnee Mission Park - I generally catch a few (knock on wood) every time out, but nothing really big though. A lot of the people out there are trying to catch catfish or bring there kids out to catch the blue gills... The best fish I caught was around 4 lbs and I was shocked when it surfaced! I've been around others that have caught wipers - which put up a mean fight! Do you ever go out there? I go out there a couple times a week. I usually catch a couple shorts each time, with an occasional 15 incher. I seem to catch bigger fish in the spring, more solid keepers, several around the 2.5-3 lb range, and my friend caught one that was about 4.5 lbs.
