There is a German word (or expression) for taking pleasure in someone else's pain or discomfort.  I'm not sure what it is but I just experienced it.   :)

I think the word you are looking for is Laffenyerasshoffe.

Reminds me of when my dog went to jump a fence and his, well his boys got hung up on the fence.  Except there was no graceful fall.  Luckily, it was just the skin and I had pliers with me!
