Need help setting up a tackle box

Featured Replies

I need some idea's for setting up a tackle box for bass fishing. I'm trying to avoid buying a bunch of useless stuff that doesn't work. I'm new to bass fishing and looking for things to start out with that are kinda easy to learn with. Thanks

Good luck, I've got boxes and boxes of that kind of stuff.   ;D

Those should give you an idea of some plastics and crankbaits to start with.

Add some spinnerbaits, topwaters (buzzbaits, spooks, jitterbugs, poppers), some jigs (black & blue, watermelon, etc.) in 1/4 and 3/8 oz., some trailers (zoom super chunks, paca chunks, etc) to match jig color.

For terminal tackle I would get some 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 EWG worm hooks (I like Gamakatsu) and some 1/8 1/4 and 3/8 oz bullet weights.

I also always keep a tape measure, small pair of scissors (mine are Rapalas), fingenail clippers, and pliers (I have the Gerber anglers mult-tool) in my tackle box.

I probably left some stuff out but this is start.   If you are looking for a tackle box I recomend the Plano 1350 satchel.  It is the one I carry when beating the banks.
