We usually have the most luck with size during the summer months on/near deeper water structure. Rock piles, humps, and points usually produce some nicer fish. Usually somewhere between 15-20 fow. We usually fish these with deeper running cranks, carolina rigs, and jigs. I have also caught a lot of nice fish punching through the milfoil with a heavy jig or a pegged creature/worm. Just drop it in the foil, let it sit for a few seconds, and move to the next hole. Weedlines can also produce some nice fish. I like to crank parallel to the outside edge of weedlines in about 10-12 fow. There are some nice fish in tonka, but it often takes some work to find them. Especially with all the 40 foot yachts cruising 15 feet from you when you are working a hump/rock pile. >

Check your state regulations. I am not sure, but I believe it may be illegal in MN and may be in other states as well.

The short answer is no. First, you'll probably want heavier line. I use braided line when jig fishing, but I personally wouldn't go lower than 14lb if using mono. I prefer a MH rod, but depending on the size of the fish you are targeting, you can probably sneak by. I also prefer a baitcasting reel, but there is nothing wrong with using a spinning reel for jigging applications.

No, the compartments are not adjustable and they go all the way down so the hooks don't slide. They are also labled by size/weight.

It is easier to keep your bait in contact with the bottom fishing deep to shallow.

I have got some water spots that have been cooked onto my Mercury outboard. They have been building up for sometime from the previous owner. What is the best way to remove (or try) these spots which have been baked into my black motor by hours of sunlight? I have waxed the thing numerous times with no luck. My next step was going to be a power buffer. Any other tricks/formulas/solutions to try? Thanks

I own two of them and have pulled bass out of some of the thickest cover in the lakes I fish. Great rods for the money.

When I use a jig I am usually power fishing so I prefer a heavier weight. I like to have it drop quick, if no reaction strike, hop it a couple times and wind it in. When I am fishing deeper structure I will downsize a little bit and slow the presentation down.

Clear water for me usually means downsizing as well as using natural colors. White would be my choice for a spinnerbait. Shad patterns for cranks.

In most of the lakes I fish we have large bluegill/panfish populations. They are notorious for grabbing a senko/finesse worm and running 3 feet with it. It happens probably 40 times each time I go out. It gets frustrating, but I still set the hook on every one of them because you never know when it will be a big bass.

I wouldn't use a trailer hook on a frog. The most important thing is to let that fish take the bait and give until a count of maybe 2 before setting the hook. As far as a leader, I never use one.
