I'm just hoping he starts spending time on Tech's campus seeing how his daughter goes here and he's good friends with Paul Johnson.

Supposedly, it was to focus on health and family. He'll probably be taking up golf and fishing

It said he stepped down due to health reason. After Bama game he went to hospital due to chest pain. I guess it has to be serious for him to step down as a coach. Whatever it is, I hope he returns to a 100% health.

Florida will be going after Nick Saban of Alabama.

They have the money and the pressure is not as great as it is at Bama, where football is a religion.

SEC football - Great On and Off the Field!!!!  :)   :)   :)

Quote from Bobby Bowden about Meyer

It's a surprise to everybody. I hope he's OK physically because he's done as great a job at the University of Florida as has been done there, or anywhere else. I admire the way he handles himself and I really like his family. The college coaching profession will really miss him.

What he really meant was "Gosh darn it, I should have stayed coaching 1 more year so I could spear some Gator Tail!"

Nevertheless, it is a total SURPRISE, that he is leaving, maybe old grumpy Steve will come back to the delight of the Gator nation!

GO, Noles! :P

OK, here it goes.

Slum Lord leaves Florida head coaching position.

Rich-Rod gets canned at Michigan.

Miles to Michigan.

Slum Lord to LSU.

Happy New Year!

Drag a dollar bill through a trailer park and watch Saban jump on it.

Saban to Florida.  ;)

The truth can hurt if you love Saban.

Stoops? Why would they want him  right now?

Dan, no one knows who will go to UF.

I am having fun telling my Bama friends that Saban is going to Florida which is driving them nuts. Of course, Saban is not going to leave Alabama.

The list is nothing more than the same list the media used for the Notre Dame job. The media believes that Florida will attract a big time name coach.

If anyone on that list would be a great fit for Florida, it would be Peterson.  But who knows? I am sure UF will select a qualified and experienced coach.

Living in the SEC we have fun with each other, especially when these unexpected things occur.

I sincerely hope Urban gets better and returns to coaching. In the meantime, Florida needs a good coach to continue their great tradition.

Now, let's have some fun Saban jokes.  ;D   ;D   ;D

Meyer changed his mind , he's only going to take a leave of absence next year.

  • Super User

Good move.

Glad to see him get a leave of absence.

He will be back.

He has his priorities right - Family and Health.

Should be interesting to see who will be the interium head coach for 2010.  :)

Outstanding!!!  ;D   ;D   ;D

Stoops? Why would they want him right now?

Well, let's see here. Seven division championships, six conference championships, three BCS National Championship appearances (one win), and two Heisman trophies in this decade. You're right! Why would anyone want him?

And in all those bowl appearances he could never beat an SEC opponent.  ::)

I love the way SEC guys always talk so highly about their conference!  :P Go ahead and pick one team and stick to it already! ;)

News:

Turns out Meyer and Tebow actually are gay.

I'll tell you one thing; Tebow will play his *** off. And then cry afterwards. And then slap Meyer's butt. Then pour champagne on him. Then drink the champagne.
