hi guys i have a long draw length that is 32 inches long and i was wondering if i need a specialy ordered bow or if i simply can buy one of the shelf and get a little bit more poundage out of it, i have 2 recurves that have about 35 lbs in weight and a 28 inch draw.... i pull those with no problem, but i want a seriouse hunting bow and am looking at the jaguar takedown by martin at 50 lbs........thanks for the help

Really depends on what you are comfortable with pulling. Dont get something you are going to struggle with. Plan on shooting cedar or carbon? I got a PSE Impala supposedly at 50 lb pull. Its a 03 model i think. Pulls to easy for me at 28 in draw. I have a Custom Long Bow and my 28 in arrows are more than enough and actually are prob about 2 inches too long. Its like pulling back 100 lbs. never have put it on the scale. I Know when i get to my anchor point im ready to let it fly. But to answer your question, i think you can find something on the shelf. I dont think there is know need for a s[ecial order.  Gander Mt had some sweet fiberglass and wood Fred Bears on sale about a week or so ago.

A traditional recurve bow can be drawn back to virtually any length, a compound bow will draw back only a specific distance before it stops (the wall). Choose a draw weight that is COMFORTABLE for you and suitable for your particular purpose and about 75% of your "maximum" strength.

Depends on the bow... some of the shorter recurves are not capable of going 32". Most of the 60" or longer bows should be ok but I would make a quick call to the mfr. of whatever brand you are considering just to be sure.  You will probably like something in the 62" - 66" though since most 60" bows will stack heavily at anything over 30" so finding the desired weight may be a lot of trial and error. Flechero gave you some good advice.  You must be very tall to have a 32" draw length.  Have you had someone measure it for you?  I can pull a 35# bow all the way back to my ear, but with a 50# bow I'm ready to stop at the corner of my mouth.  I would recommend buying the bow from a shop or individual where you can actually shoot it enough to know you will be comfortable with it.  Good luck and good shooting.
