"The snow TANK"

Featured Replies

Probably ? 8-10yrs ago I was given a very well used snow-blower. It has been tedious to start and always requires a spray of ether or 2.

It is an auger type so it is best for heavy snows. These types won't go down to bare ground so I only use it during 5+ inch snows. Otherwise I just shovel.

I didn't use it at all last year. We are expecting up to 9" so I dug it out. I sprayed it with ether and it started on the 3rd pull.   I added some gas but it still has some of 2yr's ago's gas.

Once you get it started it runs like a "Tank".

You've got to love those older Brigg's and Strattons, I'm ready for morning! lol

We're supposed to get 6" here SE of you.

Kelley

Expected to get 1" here in Middle Tenn. The whole state is in a state of panic.

9+ according to Fox News Chicago in the city. Too bad school is never cancelled. >:(

It's piling up in the KC area.  Probably around 6 inches now on top of the foot that was already on the ground.

Already burned 2 gallons of gas in my tank since the start of the season. I love them Auger types. I can throw the snow 20 feet. I hate it when I do not check wind direction though.

I have an old Toro I dug out of some else's "spring cleanup."  The clutch/brake doesn't work, so you have slam in and out of gear, but it starts every winter.  Despite getting about 30" of snow this past week, I haven't dug her out.  Been enjoying the workout of shoveling.  I will be singing a different tune by mid February, LOL.

We're expecting 3"-5" here. It's the first time this season that I'll have to fire up the tractor. We've had a couple snowfalls of up to 1", but that's all. That's very unusual for this area. It's been falling all around us, but not here.

That's the truth, on the news last night they showed people at the grocery store buying up groceries like we were about to witness an ice age. ::)

18" on the ground on Tuesday - an additional 3" to 4" yesterday - winds 30 - 40 mph today with wind-chills -15* to -22* - drifting all over the place - why the h**l am I living this far north?

there were winter storm warnings streaming across my tv on every channel last night, talkin about my area getting hit with a huge winter storm, schools closing everywhere, all the while theyre saying its gonna be 38 degrees. how is that cold enough to do what they say's gonna happen? weather people get on my nerves >:(

You've got to remember where the snow is falling from.  Up in the cloud tops, it is a lot colder than on the ground.

Think about how hail drops from the sky when in its in the 70's - 80's.
