I guess it's time to start taking bets to see if by chance the chubbies see the post-season, what team will sweep them this year.   ;D

 THANKS FOR STARTING IT UP!

If the Mets get one more good starting arm and send Martinez and Perez packing we have a shot. The Phillies are in good shape to repeat it will be a great race in the NL East.

Question; How many weeks in the season before the Yankees Apply to Congress for Bail Out Money?

  • Super User

Muddy, I think Congress needs to ask the Yanks for bailout money.

Ewww, I thought I smelled a Yankee fan.   ;)

I'm just disgusted the Sox changed their logo from the "B".... Not cool

But Tampa was a fluke and the Yanks money will get them no where but 15-day disabled list frustration so GO SOX!

That's just the alternate uniforms right?

I kinda like the alternate uniforms. Aside from that, the Sox need to do a little more than sign Penny to compete in the AL East. On paper, the Yanks are the team to beat...as much as I hate admitting that.

No other team has done as much to immediately improve than the Yanks. As I've said before, if they can't buy a championship this year, they should play in the Minors.

What do you fellas think more important;

Doing what my team does ( Mets) and try to buy the best players, regardless of the team cheistry? or Build a team of compatible, but different quaility players ith a manager that knows how to motivate them?

ex; 86 Mets, the 2003 to 6 Cards or last year Rays group?

Although it may very well do so this year ;)

Team chemistry and great management is a characteristic of most of the champion teams. Throw all of the talent away without chemistry and good leadership. The stars gotta be in line.

Are y'all gonna have a Fantasy Baseball league?

Personally I think trying to build a team from within is the way to go... of course, my team doesn't have truckloads of money (or so they say) to throw at every available high-dollar free agent. As much as I may dislike those teams who do, I don't fault them, they are playing within the rules of the system... so with that said, the system sucks. If the Cards had a $200M+ payroll, my opinion may differ somewhat, however in the end it's the lack of a competitive playing field between the haves and have-nots that hurts the game.

Well, looks like MB is going to be a chubby.  To paraphrase another Crew fan, I wonder if Wrigley is going to host a steel cage death match between Zambrano and Bradley.  I was thinking Dennis Rodman could be the guest referee.

Giambi to the A's, Burrell to the Rays, Bradley to the Cubs...and the Sox still have no real catcher. Lowe is homeless with Manny.

With the exception of the Yanks spending enough to pay the Rays' salaries for all players for the next eight or so seasons, this offseason is strange.

I heard Johnny Estrada is available.  ;D
