I consider myself very lucky to be an American, and I am very proud to say that.

Our American troops serve us and our great country, often putting thier lives in harm's way to protect our country and the ideals for which our country stands.

Currently, the USO is running a special deal to get our troops individually supplied with a phone calling card to be able to call home with.

For as little as a $15 dollar donation [which is deductible], you can buy a US soldier with a calling card good for 45 minutes calling time from locations like Iraq or Afganistan, so they can say helllo to thier families at home.

AT&T has given a specially discounted rate, and the USO has provided a secure server to do such. It is a secure webssite, and I personally have already bought one, and plan on buying more.

the problem is theres not a lot of phones for the kids over there. iraq is getting better but a phone in afghanistan, (at least a year ago) that could be used to call the states, was next to impossible to find.   

A lot of the equipment slated to leave Iraq soon will likely find its way to Afghanistan.  I hope phones are on the list!
