  11. When I said "you can keep the dog if I can buy a new spinning rod" she quickly said yes. To test how badly she wanted this dog I said "a $300 rod"... silence, so I threw in "...and a $250 reel" and was quickly reminded of how little money we both make. She agreed to the rod at least!
  12. all I heard was "I have a valid reason to buy new reels"
  13. Congrats and stuff man!
  14. I went out on my first fishing trip of the year (finally) on Saturday. I hooked my first fish on my fifth cast and while landing the fish I broke the top 6 inches off my spinning rod. This rod was an old cheap Cabela's Quantum combo 6'6" ML that I hadn't gotten rid of because it still did the trick. I just started a new job a few weeks ago and haven't gotten that first paycheck yet, so I knew that I wouldn't be "authorized" to go buy a new rod quite yet. Today my wife was walking into her office when someone pulled up in their parking lot, opened their door and tossed out a Chihuahua puppy and then drove off. She asked if she could keep the dog. Not being a fan of small dogs, I was hesitant until she bribed me by saying I could go out and buy a new rod to replace the one I broke. I am now the new owner of a Chihuahua puppy with PTSD and shopping for a new all-around spinning rod! I'm still not sure this is a good deal. I hope the new rod lasts as long as the new dog!
  15. My name is Nate, I live in Bellefontaine, so Indian Lake is my home lake, but I fish anywhere I can. No boat yet, so I'm usually out at farm ponds or rivers as often as possible
