  1. never gets old
  2. OIF - Very few good ones in Ohio, but I know Michigan has some great shows in Jan-Feb. If you find any locally let me know, I spend a good bit of time in Twinsburg for Reserve Drill weekends!
  3. The one I am always telling myself is: SLOW IT DOWN
  4. I agree! I have been a member here for a couple years now and have learned a lot from all the members here. Hopefully I have learned enough to contribute to others as well. This site is a great resource for newbies and old timers alike...
  5. haha, good stuff. There is nothing I despise more than having to call customer support. 11 out of 10 times those phone calls do nothing to improve the situation at all...
  6. I'd go with the bps extreme combo or as others stated the Abu Silver Max in a good combo
  7. Nothing better than some fun with a Mark 19! Automatic grenade launcher? Don't mind if I do...
  8. I passed on this one too. Sounds like Rashad's showing was about what I expected.
  9. make that x3! x2
  10. I would also add that you should read as many online reviews for the product as possible. Look at websites like amazon as well as retailers of the product. You can get a better feel for the product than what the manufacturer says is great about their product.
  11. Les' time management is terrible, and that certainly looked like a fair catch signal to me!
  12. Despite the Northwestern game outcome, I thought the Big-10 looked pretty good, for the first time in a few years!
  13. I'm typically an anti-Bearcats fan (Xavier Alum) but I was rooting for them in this match up. Ooops!
  14. Clean and lube reels, clean rods and re-organize tackle all while trying to avoid the bait monkey. I think its safe to say that a lot of us spend a lot more time on BR when we can't be out on the water!
  15. Good luck! I'll be with you on quitting smoking. I've tried and failed several times, but this time I've got to do it. My best advice on working out is to find the technique that works for you and make sure you enjoy it. If you absolutely hate working out, you will not stay with it. For me, that is a quick & hard workout like Crossfit or even P90X.
  16. I've only been bass fishing for about 3 years, and I've spent a lot of time learning what baits work and what ones I just waste time on. This year I want to 1) spend less money on lures and 2) concentrate on my go-to baits and hopefully 3) buy 1-2 more rod/reel set-ups ...and like every day of every year, improve my PB for LM and SM
  17. My wife may be ticked off if I throw our expensive fake tree in the lake! I'll tell her BR made me do it
  18. Welcome back, and just in time for our wonderful Ohio Bass fishing down time!
  19. Lizards are second only to senkos (trick sticks) for me. I use them from ice melt to fall, usually Texas or Carolina rig. Rage Tail is the brand of choice for me
  20. When i was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC (Fayetteville) we would pass a place heading north on I-95 that was a topless restaurant. The place looked like a double-wide trailer converted into a restaurant. I always wanted to stop just to see how awful it was. However, my wife never wanted to stop!
  21. My mom is a 4th grade teacher and last year one of the 3rd grade teachers she works with was arrested (during the school day) for prostitution. She even used the school computer and email to check her ads on Craigslist!
  22. reel mech - thanks for the info. This will be my first build. Since I'm in the market for a med spinning rod as well, I may build 2 and I will keep the trial run rod for myself. Grandpa has a Sahara 2500 still in the box in his garage, so I may match the rod to that reel if possible. I have about 3 months of Army "schools" coming up, so I plan to do a lot of reading before beginning the build. Thanks again for the advice, very valued coming from you!
  23. I have decided to build a rod for my grandfather's retirement gift. He is moving from Ohio to SC and plans on doing a good bit of fishing down there. I would say he will mostly be fishing smaller ponds (with bass up to 10lb) in the development he will be living in, but there are a few bass tourney anglers he has met who want to take him out on Santee Cooper and the rivers in the area. He has never learned baitcasters, so I am thinking a good Medium action Spinning rod will be a good all around Rod for him. He used to do a lot of smallmouth and walleye fishing on Erie when he lived on the water up there so he knows his stuff even though he has been out of fishing for a few years now. I want a rod he will enjoy enough to have a lot of fun fishing. I'm liking the St. Croix SCIII blank in 6'8" Med., but I'm looking for some good suggestions on blanks and what reel to pair them with.
  24. Good luck! I've been stuck without work for about 3 months now, and your lucky to have found something! I've had a tough time getting call backs on jobs I'm almost over-qualified for!
