great show, and it looks like this season will be a good one. My wife was just as excited as I was to see the DVR reminder come on before the show.

Kasey Kahne
Good move Bird Dog! Kasey is a great guy, even if you are not a fan I am sure you will like him. Your troop will certainly appreciate it. Sounds like a good bullet for your next NCOER!

She knows that all pee and crap is her responsibility! She definitely got the better part of the deal, though and she knows it.

marital compromise
When I said "you can keep the dog if I can buy a new spinning rod" she quickly said yes. To test how badly she wanted this dog I said "a $300 rod"... silence, so I threw in "...and a $250 reel" and was quickly reminded of how little money we both make. She agreed to the rod at least!

I made a mistake...
all I heard was "I have a valid reason to buy new reels"

marital compromise
I went out on my first fishing trip of the year (finally) on Saturday. I hooked my first fish on my fifth cast and while landing the fish I broke the top 6 inches off my spinning rod. This rod was an old cheap Cabela's Quantum combo 6'6" ML that I hadn't gotten rid of because it still did the trick. I just started a new job a few weeks ago and haven't gotten that first paycheck yet, so I knew that I wouldn't be "authorized" to go buy a new rod quite yet. Today my wife was walking into her office when someone pulled up in their parking lot, opened their door and tossed out a Chihuahua puppy and then drove off. She asked if she could keep the dog. Not being a fan of small dogs, I was hesitant until she bribed me by saying I could go out and buy a new rod to replace the one I broke. I am now the new owner of a Chihuahua puppy with PTSD and shopping for a new all-around spinning rod! I'm still not sure this is a good deal. I hope the new rod lasts as long as the new dog!

OHIO WHO'S WHO
My name is Nate, I live in Bellefontaine, so Indian Lake is my home lake, but I fish anywhere I can. No boat yet, so I'm usually out at farm ponds or rivers as often as possible

Xavier vs. Kansas State
Anyone else think this was one of the best games so far this year? Being a Xavier grad makes me impartial, but that was one hell of a game!

If you could thank one person..
in place of my absent father, I thank both my grandfathers for teaching me the basics. Neither one a bass fisherman (walleye) but they gave me the tools necessary to catch the bass bug!
