  1. I was in Breckenridge, CO one 4th of July and they had the local Dodge Viper Club take part in the parade. One of the idiots did this exact same thing thinking he was putting on a tire-smoking show for the crowd. After someone yelled at him he stopped and sputtered away...morons.
  2. good thought. I know I would do my best to attend, and to be honest I would be more likely to attend a regional seminar than I would the annual BR roadtrip. I would like to see something like that in the next few years!
  3. Last year I managed to save my Christmas-gifted gift cards for the Classic and saved a good bit of money. I think I will make it at least every other year from now on.
  4. Welcome aboard. Great to see another Ohioan on here. These are a great group of bass addicts and you will learn a ton!
  5. It sounds like those who did the work on the car are at fault. Have you contacted them yet? You would be surprised how quickly they are usually willing to get your vehicle to their shop and get it fixed for you. Don't jump in their A$$ess right off the bat, give them the chance to reimburse you for what you had to buy and to fix the remainder themselves. No shop wants to have their name associated with bad work, they would much rather fix it and let you walk away a happy customer in the end!
  6. I'm with Glenn in saying that rotary razors are a waste. Foil razors are the way to go. I wouldn't spend $200 on one though. The best razor I have ever used was an $8 Remington I bought while in the Army. I bought it so I would not have to use a blade and a canteen of water in 10 degree temps, but I used that $8 razor every day for the better part of 2 years.
  7. Thats good stuff, man. Good work on that. I wish they would have had collegiate bass fishing when I was in College 8 years ago!
  8. Good to see this going on here. A lot of my Army buddies are getting deployed and stop-lossed and sent back to the sand. Myself, I just joined a Reserve unit in Ohio and as soon as I can get trained up on the new job, my name will be on a the list to go do my part. Thank you to all on here for supporting our troops at home and overseas.
  9. Welcome aboard Tom! As a prior service soldier (thinking of returning) and a bass addict, I am sure you will love the site the more time you are on it. I've been a member for about 2 years and have learned a lot from this great group of folks!
  10. roch1- That would be great. I would have my grandpa do the same, but he is finishing his last year as a professor here in Ohio before they officially make the move to SC next spring. Thanks for the input all. I know the ponds will spawn at a different time, but if I can guess when the spawns will overlap that would make for a great week of fishing!
  11. Although I've always been too short and white to play basketball, college hoops has always been a close second to college football for me. Go Xavier!
  12. My grandparents recently built a house in Summerville, SC, my family made a trip down last April for a friend's wedding and while staying at my grandparents place and fishing the ponds nearby I had some of my best catches of 2009 including a 7lb PB. I want to schedule a week for us to go down to visit family and fish next spring, but I would love to try to be there during the spawn. Anyone have any guesses as to when that will most likely be? One of the neighbors down there is a former tourney angler and said he'd take me out on the Santee river on our next visit, so we will be fishing small (3-5 acre) ponds and the Santee river out of Lake Murray. Any help would be great, thanks to all and happy fishing while Ohio begins to freeze!
  13. I agree with most previous posts on here. Anytime you get a big group of heavyweights together, only a few will be able to fight rounds. I was in the Army with one of the guys on the show, Darrell Schoonover. He doesn't look like much, but I've trained with him and that guy can take a pounding and keep going. I'm looking forward to seeing what Schoonover (aka "Titties" as Rampage called him) brings to the show!
  14. Yuengling is a favorite of everyone in my family, but you can't buy it in Ohio. I believe it is available all up and down the East Coast, minus Georgia (I believe). Anytime anyone from the family is in a state that sells it the unwritten rule states that at least one case must be brought back to Ohio to be shared with the fam! This past June I paid a trucker who delivers in PA $30 to bring me back a case...its that good!
  15. best of luck with the recovery! I hope you have DVR to record and watch as many fishing shows as possible!
  16. Reds- I'd bet there are not many of us on this site that accidently load up on Saugeye !
  17. ... and I thought UPS had finally found a truck full of gifts they lost around Christmas time!
  18. Just reading the title of this thread gave me heartburn and a headache!
  19. I grabbed a few packs of the tru-turns from the ma and pa shop I frequent but have yet to put them to use. I'd like to see the video mentioned above if anyone can find it!
  20. enjoy it, man! Check in on here when you finish up!
  21. I left for Ft. Sill, OK on July 22nd for Basic...Hottest months of my life! Have fun! Are you reserve, I'm active but I was just wondering because I got some buddies who went reserve and thats where they went? No, I was active duty. Most of the time where you go for basic is determined by the MOS you selected. Ft. Sill was mainly artillery and air defense. I was a Patriot Missile Button-pusher (14E) so I ended up at Sill. That place sucked. I could not think of a reason to ever visit Oklahoma again in my life! haha! ya 14E is what my recruiter is. pretty cool mos Sounds cool, but I hated it quickly! Watching a radar run simulations and pretending to fire missiles (because they are too expensive to actually fire) is like sitting at home playing video games....not my thing at all! Have fun, man. Good luck!
