Fishing the Ima Roumba

Featured Replies

I went out this evening and saw some topwater feeding so I tried one of my Ima Roumbas.  No fish.  But next time...

What's the best way to fish this lure???   This lure has a W_____I______D______E wobble.  It's like having a small fish on your line on the retrieve.

I tried a slow, steady retrieve which creates a huge wake, and some bubbles.  A fast retrieve is just crazy - it's like fighting a fish.  I tried fishing it like a jerk bait and it makes quite a racket - like a dying rabid rabbit floating on the surface.

I'll figure it out sooner or later but just wondering if anyone fishes this lure and what manner has produced for you.

I haven't caught one on it yet, but it sure is nice to look at.

It's kind of like the Buzzjet without the tail walk.

BTW, whatever hooks they use on this thing are friggin' SHARP.  I tried tieing it on without the hook bonnets on and paid the price.

Sharper than any Japanese bait I've used save for Jackall.

whacked 'em the other day twitching it around weedlines, docks and stumps...looks just like a bluegill sunning.

only caught one on the retrieve but, it was the biggest of the day...she had little color, so i suspect she was deep.

and, yea, they should put some band-aids in the pack along with the bait...the hooks mean business.

Hey Micro,

Mine is still in its package but I can't wait to try it out.

I was going to fish it slow like a slow moving frog or baitfish.

I will now try it using Fathom's method and hope it produces.

Yeah, those owner hooks are sharp! I usually just use a steady slow retrieve and it works around here. I sometimes retrieve the bait a few feet and then just deadstick it, also works at times. If you like the roumba, you'll love the O.S.P Daibuzzn.

Another awesome bait is the Evergreen Combat Crank TC-60.
