Which Tubes Should I Use?

Featured Replies

I caught my first fish with a tube a few days ago and it got me motivated to get a better selection of tubes. Right now I have a bag of Prowler brand 4 inch in watermelon. What are some more brands and colors that you all use.

***

Mizmo Tubes

I prefer watermelon, black/red fleck, smoke, pumpkinseed, black with chart....The color depends on water clarity.

The *** tubes are the toughest i have found and are very effective!

Crooked Creek Tackle makes awsome Tubes and a pretty nice Senko style worm.

For brands I use zoom, powerbait, gary yamamoto custom baits, strike king, and yum.

For colors I suggest green, smoke, brown, grey, dark blue ,black, and dark red.

The majority of the tubes I use are Bass Pro Shops Magnum Flippin tube and Mizmo Big Boy tubes. One other that I've used on occasion is Venom 4".

As for color, the majority of the largemouths come off of watermelon/red flake and watermelon/chart tail. For smallies, it's roadkill, green pumpkin/red flake, junebug and smoke/red flake.

I like venom and ***. both are tough and the action on the *** tails is insane. standard colors: black/blue, watermelon, pumpkinseed. also i like to take a spike it marker and color the tails chartreuse tipped in red.

I'm a pretty big tube guy, although I've been throwing the Beaver more lately.  I've used a lot of brands extensively.  I used the Bass Pro flippin' tubes for a while (not bad), and then on to Mizmo (definitely better...a good tube).  Then I ordered a bunch of Right Bite 5" tubes which I really liked (still use the green squash 5" tube).  Then I found ISG.  The difference that ISG brings to the table is the most uniform and precision cut tails on the market.  No joke.  There isn't one tenticle stuck together or cut funny...they are all perfect and cut nice and fine to give the most action.  Love 'em!  I am using the Willy's Intimadator Tube, but want to try the dream tube when I run out.  Here is their sight...the picture really don't do them any justice.  They don't look special at all in the pics.  I'll take a pic of a couple of mine next to some other tubes I have.

Gitzit's.

Dry Creek Outfitters make the best tubes I have used.  They have some pretty amazing colors.

They are from my neck of the woods and are simply awesome.

I have caught a ton of fish  (a good amount over 5lbs this year) on a Green Pumpkin Yum 4.25" Vibra King tube.  I use it for flipping applications mostly though.

Thanks for the replies. Ive yet to get any tubes but I did get a combination of them and my biggest confidence area. I got someof the big kicker craws, theyre solid but have pincers and the tube skirt. I believe they are just over 4 inches and they are black/red flake. I already have some smaller ones in watermelon seed that work really well.
