I foresee at least eight good wrecks today.  Hopefully punches are thrown.

Sadly, I don't think they will even get to run half the race.  Rain already about 50 miles away.

It was raining here in Middle Tn at 7:30 this morning. It should have started raining up there about an hour and a half ago if not before then.

Sprinkled on me as I came from the house heading your way.

Sprinkling here on and off, radar indicates they'll catch a break.

150K lucky people over there, there will be fewer sunburns today.

a lot of those people are dressed as empty stands.

wow, I remember not to long ago when you had to buy tickets to Bristol almost a year in advance. After seeing skunked comment I changed the channel to take a look. There are a LOT of empty seats, but don't worry it was the wings fault, its gone soon.....    ::)

An unneeded yellow followed by Jimmie winning........

Keep scripting your races NASCAR, the empty seats at Bristol suggests that people are losing interest.

I lost interest when the COT came out. I couldn't even tell you who drives anymore, and this is coming from someone who used to go to at least two races a year.  ::)

I was surprised to see that many empty seats.  Guess it's not that tough of a ticket anymore.

They've over maxed their fanbase on affordability.

Tickets are overpriced.

Local hotels, restaurants, etc. bilk the typical fans by jacking prices 2-3 times.

Boring races, boring cars.

And they've wizzed off a lot of their stronghold fanbase (southerners) by eliminating old races and moving them North of the Mason Dixon line using growth as the excuse.  BTW, notice how few Southern drivers are actually in the sport anymore?  Less than 6 in cup full time if I recall.

The spring race Bristol tickets were never all THAT hard to get. Its the summer night race that was the tough ticket. May not be that way now but it was 6 or 7 years ago. I cant watch NASCAR anymore. Dale's death marked the end of the sport for me.

That's exactly how my wife feels and we used to go to 3-4 races every year.  Now, she won't even watch it on TV anymore.

It will be interesting to see the attendance at the Bristol night race.   Most of my friends that are race fans are feeling the economic pinch and staying home.  I put 90% of the blame on the ecomony and 10% on NASCAR's rule changes and BS.

I have been going to Bristol for years but missed this year due to my B.A.S.S. tournament on Lake Gaston.

My buddy told me that the stands were only 75% full and the place we park had only two rows of cars in lieu of of the six or seven rows.

Glad Jimmie won the race and Carl and the Jerk did not tangle up with each other.

Buddy told me that the drivers seemed to be on their good behavior for the race. We'll see how long that lasts during this season.

Also interested in the attendance for the May Richmond race as the ticket prices were reduced.  :)
