Any other photographers out there?

Featured Replies

I've really been getting into photography lately. It's something I can enjoy when I don't have the time or desire (gasp!) to fish.

We got a Nikon D5000 recently and I love it. Been reading Ken Rockwell's website, too.

Anyone else into photography? What do you like to shoot?

My Grandson! ;)

I like to "shoot" critters, especially eagles & hummingbirds and BASS!

I love to shoot too. I mainly shoot wildlife and sports. It's a very addictive hobby. I'm a cannon guy. there are a lot of good photography forums out there. check out dpreview and fm forums. Here is link to some of my shots.

I've been playing with cameras almost all my adult life. At times I've slacked off and other times it has heated up again. Right now I'm spending lots of time at it, as one of the above posters mentioned, shooting critters. Birds, butterflies, dragonflies and other insects. I don't have a digital SLR but use one of the so-called point-and-shoot "superzooms."

I've also done some reading on Rockwell's site. Photography can be just as addictive as fishing.

I just started getting into it a little bit. I bought a Canon T1i to see if I would enjoy shooting pics... Im hooked and am considering what body I want to get next. Here are a few shots that I took with a Sigma lens.

p.s. Aaron, I took a look at your pics. Incredible stuff man. You have one heck of a talent. I hope to get to that level one day.

Thank you for the kind words Jim! You posted a very nice series as well. What sigma lens were you using in your zoo shots? What aperture were you shooting? mode?

I'm shocked more people have not jumped in on this thread. There are a lot of photographers here.

The lens is a Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS. I like it because it is a good all purpose lens. It is on the slow side but I'm ok with that. Most of the shots were at f6.3 AV mode. I think there are quite a few others on the forum but they may not check the everything else section. I had to scale the quality way down to be able to post those pics. The originals turned out soo much better. I'm definately no pro and not trying to be... I just like to roam around and have fun with this little setup. -Jim

I like to take pictures of fish and other things when I am outdoors.

I use a D40 and my wife uses it and a D5000.

Some of her stuff is in the link in my signature.  I think she has done a great job.
