R.I.P. chuck liddell's

Featured Replies

It was good, but it hasn't been for a few years now. He has not evolved, nor improved, and the sport has passed him by. It is unfortunate, because he has a certain charisma that appeals to many fans

Yep. End of the road for Chuck.

Sad to see him get KO'd....again. He's finished. As much as I'd like to see another Liddell vs. Ortiz fight, it's not happening. Thanks for the memories Chuck.

Did any of you guys see his lip after the fight? Man, that thing was straight gashed almost all the way up to his nose. Then he had another huge gash over his left eye. Rough night for Chuck even though I thought he was winning the first round.

He got wild going for the KO just like he always has....but when he missed with that right he fell right into Franklin's fist...then the lights went out.  Game over.

I saw pictures of his lip today.  It did look brutal.

Its weird to see someone lose their chin like some of these guys do.  I guess there are only so many shots people can take.  Chuck's chin used to be an important piece of his arsenal and it just can't take the abuse it used to.

He deserves some big respect though.  I can't think of another fighter that played as big a part in the success of the UFC as Chuck.  He was the face of the UFC for years.  I hope he enjoys retirement.

I have a bad feeling he'll be back to fight Tito prior to the retirement party, but I hope he just hangs it up after being KO'd 3 straight fights.

Toto (not a misspelling  ;D) will still get KTFO by Chuck.

Guys win fights with "heart" all the time.  I have yet to see a guy win without a spine.   ;)

Be hard to Chuck to win it without a chin though.  He took one shot from Franklin and was eating canvas.  Didn't even look like that bad of a punch.

He was falling forward and even though it didnt look like much, the falling forward made the punch that much harder...and he landed it pretty square. To gash his lip all the way thru like it did, it was a harder shot than what it looked like. But yeah, it did LOOK weak.

Chuck used to eat punches much worse than that not that long ago so he could deal out his own power shots.  He took power shot after power shot in his first encounter with Rampage.

I hate to see him go out like this.

He's 40 years old now and has taken a lot of shots  over his carreer.  It's no wonder that he can't take a punch like he used to.
