Malware

Yea I got that, then when I go to post it just freezes at 27% and won't do anything... I suck with these d**n things.

3 things:

1. There's no "history". A previous issue about 6 months ago was with an entirely different network, which I promptly dropped forever.

2. I don't know yet for sure that it's a Google ad. It appears to be leaning in that direction, but I'm not certain.

3. The "infection" is a well known "old" malware attempt that anti-virus software easily detects and blocks (obviously, or you wouldn't recieve the warnings).

So it's a minor annoyance at best, until it can be resolved. I haven't heard of any more issues, so it may already be fixed.

True, glad its not an all out attack :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that warning page just pop up when you click a link? If it just loads that page then is there really any way to see what ads were present if all that the browser shows is the warning window?

I'm wondering that as well. I guess one would have to click 'go to page anyway,' to find out.

Thats what I couldnt figure out..you can't view anything. Do you mean the ads that were on the previous page Glenn?

Please note that the fact that your malwarebytes program recognizes proves that it's working. So you can safely access it the page, and malwarebytes will block the virus.

That said, it appears this is ONLY happening to those folks with Malwarebytes installed on their computers, which lends me to think this might be a false positive.

If it were an actual threat, I would think everyone would be getting warnings from Norton, AG, McAfee, etc.  But it's questionable since it's only Malwarebytes that's sending out warnings.

I've been traversing this site up-and-down and all over quite heavily across 3 computers with different anti-virus programs installed, and none of them has flagged anything.  None of them have Malwarebytes installed on them either.

Hmmmm......

Is it malwarebytes that is detecting the problem or is it Google Chrome? It seems that most people are getting the warning screens while using Google Chrome? What in the Chrome browser determines if a page is a threat?

Is it happening to anyone else who is not using Chrome?

im zip on any problems, also running Avast 5.0 and IE8.

sorry i couldnt help more ppl's....

I do not think it's MalwareBytes. I just looked at my saved screen shot again and here is a quote from the warning.

"For detailed information about the problems with these elements, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page for www."

Sounds like something Google Chrome is picking up on.

Im running avast, Ad-Aware, IE 8 at home, work is the same except I have AVG on it and so far it has not happened to me if this helps
