...well, three touch downs called back didn't help much either.

He should also start trying to focus more on keeping those Wranlger Jeans on.  :-X

It was so nice to see Childress finally say what was on his mind instead of catering to Favre. I like how he hobbled off the field at the end. ##%$^^%^$#$#$%^$%##@

Stick a fork in Favre. The magic is gone. He left it in New Orleans last year.

He cost them the game yesterday. Plain and simple. 3 int's in the 2nd half.  ::) I wonder what the Vikings players really think about Favre when he's throwing all these int's and limpin' around and losing games? I'd love to hear some of those conversations in the locker room when Brett isnt around.

Or maybe in Green Bay when he threw the OT pick against the Giants.

He had an incredible season last year. He clearly still had the mojo last year. The season-ending INT against New Orleans was the dagger in my opinion.

Totally agree about last year. He also had good last year in Green Bay...The end results were identical.

Do you think they would have bad things to say about him? I doubt it. He's one of the toughest players in the game and a sure fire hall of famer. Not to mention that he was going to retire (again, but for good this time) after having a career year last season and only came back because the team went over to his house and begged him to come back. The Vikes made their bed with that move and now they're lying in it. You can't fault a guy for being the tough competitor he's always been when thats exactly what you wanted him to be and why you talked him out of retirement at the beginning of the season. They knew, or should've known then they were taking a chance that a man his age would fall off the cliff, but if he didn't he gave them their best shot at winning it all. As it turns out, the gamble hasn't paid off so far, but I can't see the guys in the room faulting Brett for that.

You must be his agent.

Rofl.  You can't see the other guys in the locker room faulting him for hurling INT after INT?  I promise you that those guys just want to win.  They could care less who is throwing the ball.

Favre's always been the prototypical gunslinger QB. He makes high risk high reward decisions, and therefore throws his share of INT's, but he can also take a team on his back and win games for this very same reason. The Vikings knew this and still wanted him back this year. Of course they don't like losing and the INT's are a huge part of that, but if they didn't believe he gave them their best chance to win, they wouldn't have begged him to come back. You can certainly argue that he's lost a step and that maybe this is no longer the case, but I can't see his teammates badmouthing him behind his back for trying to be the guy he's always been, and the guy they wanted back this year.

edit: I guess what I'm trying to say is while the players on that team have every right to gripe about Favre's results this year, I'd be willing to bet there's still a lot of respect for him in that locker room.

I'll still watch him over just about anybody else.

Me too. I like the way he plays the game and he's as tough as they come. Those things are HUGE in my book, no matter who it is. Like Ray Lewis for example. That guy brings it every game, no questions asked.

I guess what I was trying to say is that there's no way the whole locker room in Minnesota can be happy about having Favre as the QB. Sure, he's the best they have but his 'sling it around' style is gambling at best and right now it looks like his luck has run out.

That said, I hope I'm wrong. I'd like to see Favre get another ring. I think he deserves it simply because he's been a great player all these years and there is no quit in the guy.

Same with Ray Lewis. It's a real shame that the Ravens had NO OFFENSE AT ALL during his prime years with the defense they had. The Ravens could've seriously dominated the last decade with an offense. But as we know, it's hard to win on field goals every game.

You left a blank out for Brett.  ;D

But seriously, Favre is past his prime.

He is making horrible calls and horrible decisions.

He has to give it up eventually and I think this year it will come to an end.

The Vikings knew what they were getting into when they brought him back though too.

They knew that Favre has thrown the most interceptions of any quarterback, but they also knew that he has the most yards of any quarterback ever.

In all reality though, the Vikings should have won.

When Shiancoe caught the ball in the endzone, he caught the ball.

That was a horrible call and it cost them the game.

Oh, I'm sure that there is plenty of respect for the guy in the locker room, Shaner. I still love watching him play. He's one of the few people in the NFL that looks like they genuinely like playing the game. I'd love to see him make one more run for a ring, but I doubt that it's going to happen.

you had to know that sometime soon some team was gonna get burned by favre as his skills would drop dramatically. I guess we now know it's the vikings. Hopefully they sold enough tickets and jerseys to pay his $20 million salary.
