yamamoto shakey head worm

Featured Replies

hello

i have started using the yamamoto 5" kut tail worm on the spot remover shakey head and had amazing resuts yesterday. my question is, i was playing with this setup in the bathtub and because the worm is so heavy the jig justs falls over.  is there something that resembles the kut tail that floats?  most of my hits were on the fall, but i caught several by dragging then shaking the jig.  but if it is falling over seems like i might not be getting the full flavor of the set up.

one last, are the spot removers a well rounded head?  been trying to find something a little cheaper but dont have any experience other than the pro model spot remover

thanks

I use 5" berkley shakey head worms on spot removers and it works wonders for me. Its not exactly the same as the kut tail worm but it is more durable and floats. Its worth giving a try if you haven't yet

I hate paying for the spot removers, but for me, the rest don't cut it.  Try Roboworms on them and you have the killer setup.  big

*** Floater is a good choice, though the color selection is limited and they're a little longer than the Kut Tail.  I usually just fish the black ones on a 1/0 or 2/0 Mustad Ultra Point in very shallow water (< 6 ft) and the hook is enough weight to make them fall head first and then stay vertical on the bottom.  Should work well on a shakey head setup too.

+1 on the Berkley Shakey Worms.  I've been using them on Owner Ultra Heads.  Best bait I've tried to date.

Roboworms are perfect for the shakey head.

Get the ShakE2 jighead. It doesn't fall over, AT ALL.  I've been using it for awhile now and often find myself caught up just watching it work.
