Cliff Lee back on the Phillies.

Didn't see that one coming. That sure makes for a scary good pitching line up on that team.

As much as I love Lee I'm seeing a little bit of a Miami Heat thing going on here.

I know he is comfortable there and blah blah but the way he waited for this makes me think he was expecting it.

Might just be me

something weird had to have happened. he was traded by philly because they couldnt meet his contract demands, then "poof" they are able to meet his demands. I am glad he took less money than the yanks, but I am sure the union is not very happy with him.

Well if fans were spitting on your wife and yelling at her in the stands you wouldn't want to sign there either.

I agree, good to see him not chase the money. Big help for the sox, now they are surely the favorites.

As a Mets fan this kills me. Not that I had much to get excited about before this move, but Halladay, Lee, Oswalt and Hamels; If the Phillies don't win 110 games next year, there should be an investigation.

Lee and Lebron were cut from the same cloth when you compare them its scary.

Both signed for less money and years.

Both had a Chance to remain with a winning team.

Both waited for the last second to sign

Both kept quite about what they planned to do

Both moved away from their home towns.

Both joined a team that has at least 2 more super stars

Guys its clear to me this isn't about money. This is not the same as the Yanks buying aces. This is not the Red Sox's or Rangers trading the farm to get that extra arm.

This is all about rings.

I'm glad to have him back. Still stinging about losing Jason Werth. Washington got one hell of a player.

Isn't that what they play for? ;)

Not for what they paid him.

Tin's right...Boston has a scary lineup.

Also, it sounds like the Phils are looking to move Blanton.  If so, they may have have to eat some of the $17 mil they still owe him.

The Crew may be a good fit.

I don't recall Lee creating an hour long show on ESPN to announce his DECISION.  I also haven't heard about a big party that the Phillies are going to throw to "showcase" their aces.

LeBron's handling of the situation was vastly different.  They shouldn't even be compared.

No they shouldn't be compared. Lebron left small change on the table in Cleveland, but gained much more in the spotlight and endorsement dept in Miami, and Lee left a lot of money and the chance to play on the biggest stage, NY, on the table. Lee also had the chance to play with other superstars in NY, probably more stars than Philly, but chose Philly anyway. So there is no comparison, not to mention Lebron's a DB and Lee seems like a nice guy. As for Jason Werth being a great player, he is a good player, but when it counts, men in scoring position, he was 2nd to last in average last year in the majors, not so great.
