If you ice fish, Please be careful

Featured Replies

That is crazy to me to fish on an inch of ice. I go with my father, but we don't fish till there is a foot of ice. He checks every week with his auger.

There is more than an inch of ice on the lakes. A buddy and I ice fished Banner yesterday and we had 6 - 8 inches.  I was just trying to let guys know to be weary when out there and look for bad spots on the lakes they fish. I wouldn't want this to happen to someone else.

I have been out about 5 times so far this year.  We just aren't getting the ice build up like we normally do.  I have been fishing on 5-8 inches of ice at the lake.  I am waiting for the other areas to ice up.  This lake is the only one frozen right now within several hours drive.
