Monster crappie

Featured Replies

I haven't been Crappie fishing in quite a while but went all the time when younger. Both of my parents were pan fish fanatics. Said that to say this. Large Crappie really like Bass lures. The 3 largest Crappie I've ever caught were fooled after I started Bass fishing. 2 of them fell for a white 1/4 oz. tandem blade spinner with a 6" red worm for a trailer and the 3rd went for a suspending rogue. It was a wonder I didn't tear their mouth out thinking they were Bass and setting hook as if they were.

Haven't had a mess of Crappie fillets in too durn long...

Thats a big Crappie!!!!  I caught 1 that was 12 inches on a spinnerbait this spring and thought it was huge, yours is even bigger!  :o

dock lights,3 dozen bass minnows,small cork, and light bass tackle.......too much fun....Big crappie,hybrids,stripers,and a few LMB's....

That is one nice fish. I'd love to catch something like that I once caught a 12 incher. Reallyy nice fish.

I'm really starting to like crappie fishing.

Alot.

going out with the ultralight and some little jigs, is way fun.

I remember one of my first times out fishing when I was 9 or 10 I believe, I was out with my parents using this really old short rod and reel that my brother used when he was younger(and we're 10 years apart), well I was using a cork and got a big bite and my parents told me to reel him in.....well when we got him up and measured him he was as long as my little blue tacklebox which had a ruler on the top and he was every bit 12" long, biggest crappie I've ever caught still to this day.

Well if he was 17 inches then his weight would be 4 pounds. But since he is a couple of inches shy (probably around 13 or 14 inches), the weight will be around 2 pounds.

Nice catch none the less! 8-) :D;)
