I was wondering if I could catch some large bluegills and take them to a local pond and release them to help strengthen the bluegill population in the pond.  I wanted to ask yall before doing it in case there is something i should know before I do it.

Check the regulations, it may be illegal to transpot fish from one place to another.

In just about evey state it is illegal to tranport fish from pond to pond.  

There could be plants and other things that maybe in the lake that you take the fish out of that is not in the lake you are taking the fish to, that would cause serious problems.

I would contact your state fisheries and see about getting it stocked, if it is a private pond then see if the owner would pay to have it stocked.

Never transplant fish, not a good idea....

I agree with Raul and alhuff,

In most states it is illegal to transplant fish from one body of water to another, also buy doing this you could also transplant micro-organisms or desease that might be attached to the fish, which could be dissaterous to the new lake.
