need a saltwater setup

Featured Replies

im going on vacation to ocean city MD for a week and need a saltwater spining combo that is pretty cheap. i am after sea trout, stripers, bluefish, croaker and flounder. would it be possible to use a cheap freshwater setup? i have 3 of them but i hate how huge saltwater rod/reels are. im looking for something thats like medium light action so i can get a really good fight. any ideas on what i should get?

I would use a medium action rod with a 4000 series reel. I have a Shimano Clarus with an older 4000 series Symtre. The medium light would work for Trout, because they have tender mouths that can be ripped easily but a decent size Blue or a Striper would wreck havoc on it.
