Highly pressured fish

Featured Replies

Ok,

There's this pond...

Size: 3-4 acres

Clarity: Clear.........2' visibility

Cover: A few submerged trees/stumps.................Some light vegitation extending 1-2' out along the edge in some places.

Depth: 20-25'

There's been quite a bit of pressure latley. I used to be able to catch good numbers of fish. Now I have to work to get more than 2. I was wondering what ya'll think I should be throwing, and how. Oh, and the water level has been dropping recently.

Thank's!

i have the same situation but mines 40 ft in some places and idk bout acres but ive had succses lately with shakey heads

Drop shots, shakey heads, finesse worms, flick shake rigs.  All of these are great highly pressure water lures and with the size of the body of water you can fish them effectively and not have to cover as much water as quickly to locate bass providing your electronics or your current knowledge of the body of water have you in the right spot to begin with.

Read up on Aaron Martins on google he's the drop shot king and has a bunch of good pub on line about him and his approaches as well as bait selection, sizes, and colors.  Good luck, think small and natural colors and I'd bet you'll be fine.

I have recently converted to throwing a Sweet Beaver, weightless with a 4/0 straight worm hook.  Two trips to a lake that usually gives me 1 or 2 on a good day, and I landed 16 bass on the beaver.  Lost a ton too on the first day...

Try to slow your presentation down... Use larger baits and work as slow as possible. Bass are lazy and they usually do not want to work to get dinner.  ;)

If you're on a boat, fish deeper, in that 20+ ft water where larger bass may be prsent, also try downsizing your baits, and using natural colors. And as NitroMan said, work very slow Bass are lazy.

Thank's ya'll.

I went out today and caught some on the Traveling Lure then I switched to a 7" Power Worm. I caught a 5 pounder on it!!!! I also caught several other smaller bass on the Power Worm too.
