i usually wait till i feel the weight of the fish and then i give a strong hook set.. i use 65lb braid and a MH rod to do the rest of the work to yank them out of the scum.. keep ALOT of pressure on the fish all the way to the bank or boat because if they get any slack line they will throw your frog.. good luck and catch a hawg

i think in the next 5 years many states will make the change but i think the bait companys will try to change over to biodegradable plastics anyways.... are they going to ban eagles also because they eat and harm trout

is it true that you are not supposed to oil and lube any bc reels from plueger.. i own the presedential and i lubed it inside the tension nob and got it in the gears and after i did that i heard you werent supposed to do that...do you think it will mess up the reel :-/

sucks to be you guys in the south..haha we have been getting highs of 85 lately still kind of hot but nothing unbearable... you guys should put on sun screan, get a big cooler and shove alot of ice in there and fill it with gatorades and muscle the day through..lol

what i usually do is i texas rig it one one side and after that side gets torn up i texas rig it on the other side and fish with it until it gets torn up then i wacky rig it in the middle

i would suggest a rod from fenwick.. i found a fenwick venture for 40bucks in a mh action and its a 7fter and i matched it with my pflueger presedential bc reel with 65lb braid and it can handle anything... i fish alot of heavy matted grass with this setup and i have no problem what so ever pulling 5lb plus fish through the grass...

i would go with gamagatsu or ultra point.. both are fine hooks.. most common sizes are 3/0 or 4/0

id have to say the same.. i like the tackle bags with the plano boxes because its easy to organize, you can fit in more tackle, it will protect the lures from rain or other elements outside, and i can find what i want because you can label the boxes

i guess it really depends on the lure also... i know that when thowing a buzzbait im not looking for numbers but the biggest most aggressive fish in the area and you have to fish it without giving up... also with a finesse jig you got to really work it and show it to them a number of times sometime before they even think about bitting it. patience does pay off..

forget the skiis and throw on the wakeboard...try doing a backflip or a misty with water skiis it wont happen

what kind of rod do you use for those deep diving crankbaits??? I have a 6 6 medium action casting rod matched with a 5.3:1 shimano citica casting reel. would that work fine?

oh yeah i almost forgot. I heard a story last year when a guy was fishing for marlin and he hooked into one and got it close to the boat.. the guy reached down to grab it but when he reached over the fish jumped and put the beak or nose into the guys head :-/

for me it depends on my attention span for that day. lol.. but i usually stick with one thing from anywhere between 5 min-30min without getting bit... if i know there are fish there and i picked a selection acording to conditions and water clearity ill probably fish it for a while
