Glow-sticks and catfishing

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a good trick for attaching those mini-glow-sticks to your rods for night fishing?  I know the packs of sticks they sell at Walmart have connectors in them, but I bought 100 loose ones on ebay and am looking for a way to attach them without damaging the rods.

how about a couple rubber bands...top and bottom of each glow stick?

obviously, the bands could not interfere with your line.

scotch tape

I use black electrical tape to attach them to rod tips or to bobbers when I'm night fishing, I always have a roll of the tape in my tackle bag now.

I'm going to try hot glueing a short piece of clear tubing to the rod.  I'll bring one of the glow-sticks to Lowes to see what size I need.

I always use the bells that attach to the tip of the rod, those work well for me.

My buddies and I have a neat trick. You can use the connectors that come in the pack. I take a little hook and put it through the rubber connector then I put the glow stick in and I pull some line down from my 2nd or 3rd eye up and hang the hook on it. The glow sticks work great, because they show the subtle bites.

Well, if the fish are not biting you could always just tie some line to the sticks, swing them around and have yourself a good ol' fashioned RAVE right there on the bank...

Yee haww.   ;D

Rave and "yee haw" go together like Kanye West and Taylor Swift!  ;D

My apologies....

Hella cool, 4 realz.

For night fishing for cats i bought rods with glow in the dark tips on the end or rods that are white and easily visible. i even have one that takes batteries and lights up the entire rod

mini zip ties..... two of the attached to the tipe of ur rod one at each end of the mini sticks should do the trick. and theyre really easy to remove!
