Hmmmm...

I've caught carp on lures, but not grass carp. Grass carp are commonly stocked in reservoirs here. They are east to see, and do get HUGE. :o

But, I do have to wonder if the fish actually took his crankbait, or he fouled it.

Anyone here catch grass carp on lures before?

I was fishing in the back of my canal one day with a 3/8oz spinnerbait in firetiger. A fish took it as soon as it hit the water. It came to the top and swirled the water around and i thought it was a big muskie/pike. Fought pretty d**n good and when my step dad netted it and pulled onto land, it broke though the net! Wasn't foul hooked, the lure was clearly in its mouth. I estimated to be about 20lbs. Oh yeah my line got wrapped around the fish and my step dad threw it back in......in goes the rod. And I'm halfway over the seawall grabbing for my rod LOL.
