I fish for these guys in a few harbors here in so. cali. Good little fighters on lighter line, I have a blast catching them on 6 to 8 lb test, with either a l or med 7'6" spinning rod. Sometimes you can get some nice sandbass in the mix too. Anyone else target these guys..?

My uncle was stationed in San Diego for a few years and I had a chance to catch a few of these little guys. Loads of fun. The saltwater fishing in Southern California is so different from the East Coast it still blows my mind.

i love catching spotties on 6 pound ultra light setups they are greats fighters and just a blast to catch! i love saltwater fishing im getting into frashwater since the ocean is like 11 miles from me and i have el dorado and regional right down the street hahha

Not sure how old this is but I fish for spotties often. 3" Big Hammer swimbaits work great.
