Rage Tail baits, advertising works

Featured Replies

So I went to Tallahassee's brand new sportsman warehouse today and I ran into the Rage Tail brand plastics.  Immediately I remembered seeing the banner here, and more importantly reading multiple posters boast about them.

I picked up a package of Rage Craws, watermelon red & Rage Toads, watermelon red flake.  How exactly should I be working these baits?

The rage craw says c-rigged, t-rigged, or weightless so I'm assuming I just work it kinda slow on the bottom like a senko worm if I weight it.  Which is your favorite way to rig the Craw?

Do I work the frog on top water with a fast retrieval?

Your input is appreciated, I'll be on Lake Munson at 7am tomorrow morning so hopefully they work out.

I rig the toad on a 4/0 or 5/0 keel weighted hook and run them back fast enough so the legs are kicking up the water. The toads have been an unbelievable producer for me. Make sure you seperate the toad legs by breaking the tabs if they have them. I haven't used the craws yet but if you go to www.ragetail.com you can watch the videos on the products and get information on how to rig them.

Hello RoseAngler,

For sure on the Craw, use it Tex Rigged, Carolina rigged, or as a weightless finesse topwater. The Craw can also be used as a jig trailer by pinching the body to a desired length. On the Rage Toad, I am more partial to a 5/0-6/0 EWG super-line (heavy wire) hook. Many use a light keel weighted hook in the same sizes to achieve more distance on cast, and a slightly deeper sound and allows the Rage Toad to fall quicker when pausing in pockets. This is a buzz toad and be sure to pop the small tear tabs loose on each foot before fishing.

Hope this information helps and hope you are very successful on your upcoming fishing trip as well. Be sure and let us know how you do and thanks for your support.

Its over for you now once you use these baits you'll be hooked. Enjoy and plan on buying more they are a must on my boat.

i just used my last Rage Tail Craw that was used a a jig trailer, I didn't catch a single fish on them until my last 2 lol don't you love that, just about when you're ready to switch back to old they start working for you. So now it's off to Gander Mtn. to pick up some more lol.

Good luck with them.

If you can't find the Rage Tails at Gander Mountain, pick up some PacaCraws. Those things are awesome.

do they have scent added to them in the package?

The scent on the rage tails is called " Craw Butter" :P Just ask  Big O

The scent on the top water baits-Rage Shad and Toad is different than all of the other below the surface Rage Tail baits.  As Painterdude mentioned, Crawfich butter is on all under surface baits as well as salt.  Hope that helps

The craws have an anise scent to them.

Hey John, The first production runs did in fact have a slight anise scent to them but the latest production sets have the new scent.

Those are the ones I must have gotten... I'll try to find some newer craws this week.

The new scent is some pretty good stuff.  Smelling it in the pure pre-mixed form will definitely wake you up lol.  But as far as fish catching ability, it works wonders.  I love the stuff.
