May I suggest calling B.A.S.S.; or sending them an e-mail; or contacting your B.A.S.S. state representative; or see if Hillybilly Hooker answeres your querty?

Hillybilly Hooker...you out there?

In my humble opinion I would suggest that you FIRST join a local youth club. Check your state's federation, find a club near you that has a youth club and join. Since you are 16 you will only get a year or 2 in the youth club then you will have to move to the adult side. Once you get a few years under your belt fishing tournaments then maybe try a weekend series event as a co-angler.

Tournament fishing is just like anything else, start at the grass roots level and work yourself up.

If BASS works the same way as the FLW, you would be able to fish their tournaments, but you would need a waiver or consent form signed by your parents. The recommendation to contact them directly will be the best one you'll get.

thanks

You can fish both adult and jr tournaments YOU CAN'T attempt to qualify for both STATE TEAM/STATE championships. You can fish both ONLY if you have preseneted a signed letter to your youth director and president/tournament directors stating you intentions to pursue either or.

Example and recomendation is to pursue you JR championship to go on to th e JWC but if you want to fish with the adult clubs in the State team qualifier do so with the intentions of fishing for experience and bragging rights. But with a letter stating that before you ever board a boat.

The same hold true for STATES you cant attemp to make a state team in TEXAS and in Alabama.

Double check with your youth director. It has also happend more than once in our state and I had double checked with BASS beforehand, as well as this being a topic in our YD meetings curing the  Classic 2007.

At 16 I would be going wide open to get to Jr. championship at the Bassmaster classic were you get to fish with the big boys get to call KVD a buddy.
