Beginning Tournaments

Featured Replies

It's been a while since I have been on the forum, but it is good to be back.

I was thinking of fishing in tournaments.  I enjoy competition, so it would be right up my alley.

I have researched a few tournaments, but I can not decide what to do.  Does anybody know of some good amateur tournament trails?  BTW, I would be fishing as a junior non-boater.

Thanks for the help!

My suggestion would be to start at the local club level - this would let you have a taste for tourneys and maybe get hooked up with a good partner.

Find a forum that is in your state. I live in NJ and we have an NJ Fishing forum with all the club level tourny guys. You kinda have to know someone to get into these clubs so if you go on these forums that are based in your home state, you will definatly be able to find a good club for you.

look into A.B.A draw Trail in your area , they always need non- boaters. you'll meet a great bunch of guys and you'll learn alot fishing with different guys. dont forget to split the cost of fuel

any local club tournaments are awesome and you can learn a lot about the lakes in your area and the people are always awesome. if you want to go a little bigger your area BFL would be a good choice, little bit bigger tourneys, but a lot of fun.  let us know what you decide and where your planning on fishing.

what part of the country are you from
