Zoom's Brush Hog

Featured Replies

Just wondering you guy's that use this plastic bait, which color you use of the brush hog's you have the most succsess with and what color's to use in the morning, evening etc. Thanks a bunch :)

Watermelon seed / Pumpkin for clear water.

Black/blue for dark water.

Junebug works well in both.

Never had a color that worked better than black.  Usually they throw some red flake in them, but the more black...the better. IMO

Just like anyother plactic, green pumpkin.  Has nothing to do with the color though and everything to do with my confidence.  Just throw what you like and the fish will eat it.

The Brush Hog is my #1 bait at Lake Barkley.  The fish just kill it on a Crig on the ledges and roadbeds.

My best colors are any of the watermelon or green pumpkin based colors.

I REALLY like Brush Hogs and Baby Brush Hogs. Usually have the best results with grn. pumkin and watermelon seed...

Great bait for fishing heavy cover. I like anything black for stained or murky water, and watermelonseed and pumpkin for clear. I use a screw in sinker and a 3/0 hook for the regular brush hog, and a 2/0 for the baby brush hog.

In this period I use very often the Baby Brush hog! I love that bait!! The color depends of the water! Generally I use Watermelon seed/Green Pumpkin/Junebug for dark water...and they works very well!!!

I never use them in clear water! But I think that natural colors works great! ;D

I caught this little bass with a baby brush hog watermelon seed!!

Best regards from Italy!

I like watermelon seed in light pads. I go to blueberry in heavier weeds or when it's overcast or later in the day.

There is one lake that I fish where they murder either grasshopper or watermelon/blue.

So far for me I catch many more 1.5s - 2.5s with Super Hogs, but 3s - 5s on Brush Hogs.

Watermelon Red/Black Flake, Watermelon seed, Green Pumpkin and Junebug have been the most productive colors for me. I use a 1/8 - 1/4 oz. T-rigged sinker with a 3/0 hook. I fish mostly in the morning in clear water.

I have the most confidence in Watermelon Seed, but, what color I use varies on water clarity and conditions.
