Pay attention to what is going on around you, learn every single thing you can and never think that you know it all.

Is smb small mouth bass? Is there really a smallmouth bass circuit? Can you weigh in a largemouth if so? Is this a trick like CATT says? Canadians have largemouth too I have fished there.

Our tournaments are for smallmouth bass.I live in New Brunswick on the east coast of Canada,There was a report of someone caught a largemouth bass here last season, that someone had illegally introduced them to our waters.Maybe in five years time we will have enough largemouths to contribute to our series but for now only smallies. Our first tournament is in four weeks on a river system that runs through our province, i will possibly go with a husky jerk, hair jig, tube and a spinnerbait.I guess i just have pre tournament jitters seeing it's my first, but thanks to bassresource being a rookie just got a hole lot easier. Thanks for all the knowledge and support.Have a great season.

Feed them something that looks like what they eat.  Natural colors and sizes usually outfish big crazy looking baits on average.  You entered for a reason and I'd bet it was not because you wanted to throw your money away.

Use the skills that gave you the confidence to enter in the first place and SLOW down.  Tournament fishing makes us all speed up and sometimes abandon our game plans.  That's when we do our worst.  The fish are the same tomorrow as they were last week tournament or no tournament.  Fish that thing like you are fishing any other day and do your best to pattern them based on what's going on with your lake.  Make a game plan and stick to it, audibles in bass fishing rarely work.  Good luck

The best advice I ever received was "If you ain't catching 'em you are either in the wrong place or using the wrong technique or both." ;D
