What's the best thing that ever happened to you and your fishing partner.

Featured Replies

I meet my fishing partner through this forum about a year ago maybe a little longer, but anyway we both happened to be in the army at the same base minutes apart, so we decided to hook up a few times and go out to this local lake, we fished and had good times, neither one of us were in a rush to get home, the wifes understood, everything was great, then all of a sudden our schedules changed and we didn't really fish much, hell we didn't even talk much. But, I posted my first post on here in about a year or so, funny thing I am in afghanistan now, and guess what, i get a pm from my fishing partner (bassnsoldier) and he is in iraq, I'm so pumped, anyway just thought this was cool.

When I was 18, I lost my orginal fishing partner, my Grandpa. Like most he started me out on the bream, and then when the crickets got loose in his car for the 100th time, he gave my 50$ and told me to buy a bait caster from K-Mart and a pie plate to practice throwing to. He said it was time to big boy fish as he put it. I bought a Silstar reel and an off the wall rod and it has been love ever since the first hook up with ole' bucket mouth. My neighbor saw my love for fishing and quickly took me under his wing when my Grandpa passed away. He was not on to fish with too many people because he was serious about his fishing and I am 20 years younger the he. But he saw the same spark in myself and coached me to the fisherman I am today. Although I now have kids and an odd working we schedule, we still get to make trips every couple of months and enjoy every minute of them. God bless the memories. And thanks to the guys defending our country overseas. God bless and always kept in my prayers.

I always wonder if Glenn could have had any idea how many people this site would touch when he built it.

Keep your heads down boys.

Fishhard, you and Basssoldier are our heroes. We owe you more than you know and hope and pray that you return safely.

Never forget "We are with your biggest fans"
