Mike Long outdistanced a field of 44 boat Saturday at Lake El Capitan taking the WON Team tournament with a five bass, 15.26 pound limit. Mike had only seven bits all day fishing a 5" Senko Wacky style.

Second Place went to Roger Gordon and Bob Palashewski with a limit weighing in at 14.06 pounds and anchored by the second heaviest bass caught in the tournament at 5.81 pounds.

The father/son team of Kevin and Mike Martin finished third with a 13.29 pound limit bookended by the heaviest bass of the contest on a Robo worm weighing in at 13.29 pounds.

Here how the top ten did at Lake El Capitan on Saturday:

1. Mike Long 4.29 15.26 $3,120

2. Roger Gordon/Bob Palashewski 5.81 14.06 $1,395

3. Mike and Kevin Martin 6.19 13.29 $1,665

4. Greg Miser/Justin Iacino 4.84 11.44 $1,065

5. Art Berry/Todd Holverson 11.12 $400

6. Larry Wilson/Mike Gonzales 10.71 $250

7. Brian and Aaron Johnson 10.56 $200

8. Cameron Smith/Brett Woodward 10.41 $130

9. Dennis Saiki/Aaron Minami 10.40 $120

10. Wade Strelic/Wes Zimmerman 10.21

We want to thank all the fishermen who contributed to the Bob Sangster Family Fund.

Complete standings and YTD information will be found on the WON site in a couple of days.

The next team event for the San Diego region will be at Lake Hodges, Saturday 3/21/09. See you there.

I knew there had to be one Cali lake that had normal sized limits.

Mr Long pocketed another 3 grand for 8 hours work. Not bad at all.

On a Senko? That's hard to believe... :D
