FLW IS BETTER THAN BASS!!!

Recommended Posts

The proof is in the numbers. It took KVD three days of fishing to get close to the 13 pound mark when he won the Classic in 2005, but the very first FLW pro to weigh in today overtook that mark in only two days. This is proof that the FLW guys are WAY BETTER than the BASS pros.

Just kidding ;D

I believe you are comparing apples to oranges.

First of all, take a look at the Kentucky Lake standings this past go around when the BASS pros hit it (6/3-6/6) and then soon after the FLW guys hit it (6/11-6/14).  That is pretty close to apples to apples.

The BASS pros put up more weight.

What needs to be compared is the overall quality of how the tournaments are ran, television coverage, sponsor promotion, and payout vs. entry fees....just to name a few.

At the end of the day D. Walker, G. Hackney, M. Iachnelli, L. Nixon, T. Omari, C. Baumgardner fished the 05 classic.  So that just shows you that pros jump between the series, and do not believe that one is better than the other.

P.S. That is just my opinion.  However, if I had to chose it would be FLW and not BASS.  I only say this because I feel that BASS has steered away from its roots, mainly due to being purchased by ESPN.

I think it is the person that is in controll of his or her destiny, drive and detoremenation.to study the area they are fishing.RedMan was easy for 75.00$ dollar amature fee. Then FLW with I think 250.00$ amature fee. Then the big boy,s at 300.00$ amature fee for the BassMasters Open.So all I am saying is if you have a goal,go for it.I would like to see the top anglers from both orginizations go head to head.OOPs they are all ready doing this, it,s called Ultimate Match Fishing, hosted by Joe Thomas, in witch anglers from what ever side of the fence fishes against each other, but under special conditions. Two anglers to a boat butt they cann,t cross the center of the boat,Back belongs to the person in back, front belongs to the guy in the front.Penalized for cross there personal space,5 fish, one live well apiece, cauling is aload,5 heaviest fish wins.At the end of a series is a 50,000.00$ price tag.I watch this on cable sports channel 805 FLORIDA.

I really dont think the pros on either side are better or worse. there are a lot of pros in flw that I think could very successful in Bass, and have there are just differences and some anglers like one more than the other.

flyhatch hit the nail on the head. These river fish bite when there is current and color to the water. There wasn't in 2005, hence, the FLW event is producing more and larger fish. Had the 2005 Classic had these condtions you may have seen similar results.

Both tours have great anglers.

Uh....ya'll did see that this thread was started as a joke, right? ;)

Which tour is really better?  Depends on what you are looking for.

Fish FLW for the money; Fish BASS for the glory.

No one will argue that the money is better with the FLW.  As for the Bassmasters recieving the glory, I was at the 2005 Classic.  The crowds at the launchs and weigh-ins were a LOT bigger for the Classic than they are for the FLW CUP.

I believe both tours have great anglers, and until they merge, we can debate this topic until we're blue in the face and not have an objective answer.  I love both tours, but it would be awesome if they came together. :)

Hackney and Ike go #1 and #2 (both B.A.S.S. guys).  Third place was a FLW guy and he was 1 pound 10 ounces behind (which in this tournament is like being 7 pounds behind in any other).  So when comparing FLW guys and BASS guys, who fish in the same tournament (and not comparing them to 4 years ago) it looks like the B.A.S.S. guys get the nod.

Guess no one saw the "just kidding" part... hehee

That being said,  #1 and #2 Hack and Ike, both BASSers that cherry picked way into FLW Tour
