The Sunshine Showdown starts next week on the Harris Chain.  It will be interesting to see how the BASS AOY plays out this year.  There's a chance we could see some DD bass.  Who do you think is going to be the angler to beat next week?  Does anyone have a prediction for AOY this year, other than the usual suspects?   

I'm kinda hoping a newcomer will have a bust out year. Definitely would shake things up a bit. Among those newcomers i would like to see Andy Montgomery and Brandon Palaniuk do well. Should be an interesting year for sure. I just can't wait till they come to my neck of the woods in May. This will be the first year that i  am actually interested in fishing when the pro's were here. It will be great to see them pick apart my home waters.

Van Dam, Wirth, and Scroggins are in the top five on day one.  Skeet Reese is 47th and Iaconelli is 33rd but a lot can change by Sunday.

You know one thing I liked was to hear about some of the Elite angler's helping out Davy Hite Nurse his ailing arm. Shows some true camaraderie among the bunch. Enjoyed seeing a big fat 9lber too  8-)

Shaw Grigsby nailed 29 lbs 8 oz today and leads by 8 lbs over Van Dam.  Wow.  I haven't seen Grigsby in this position in quite some time.

Yeah Grisby's doing quite well! He seems like a super nice guy (and his stache looks quite suave)  ;D

Speaking of the weigh in, Dave Mercer is tough to watch sometimes.

At least for one event Shaw is on top of the AOY standings. He really ran off with this one. I also see Rick Clunn has placed 11th. A couple of the old guys made a good showing this week.
