  1. Guess you deleted my post because I mistakenly replied to your post and it added your pics again.
  2. Awe man, one of my favorites! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help the cause.
  3. What lake are you speaking of if you dont mind me asking? Hope it isn't one that I fish.
  4. Very true, bass are certainly not the most popular fish here. Many times I'll be the only bass fisherman on the water. I went to a Walmart in Texas and I felt like I was in BPS, I saw things I had never seen before. Very different from the Walmarts around here that are geared toward trout fisherman. But, with all that said, I've been here for 10 years and hope I never leave, you can fish for bass almost any way you want.
  5. That's awesome, congrats! I am on my second Ranger, a 2001 R93 is what I recently bought and I love it! Post pics when you bring her home.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys, thanks for the links Glenn.
  7. From Motor Guide over the phone. They told me the mount was 20", but I'm not getting 20" by my measurements, more like 20.8 or 20.9. If what I'm getting is right, I should be able to get a motor that fits exactly.
  8. I've got an older Motor Guide 767V Brute trolling motor on my R93 Ranger that I have decided I am going to replace because of how much it will cost to get fixed. I've having a dilemma on choosing a motor, I want quality, but for the most reasonable price possible. Then once I have the motor I'm kind of nervous about putting it on, I've never done it and don't want to make any mistakes. First thing that concerns me is according to motorguide, the mount I currently have is 20 inches and the smallest mount on any new motorguide is 20.8, which means I may have to drill holes in the mount and void the warranty. Any words of wisdom or advice any of you can give me for purchase and or installation are really appreciated. Thanks
  9. Yes, you'll be investing in a new trolling motor, figure 1K and up. You might be able to use that to talk him down.
  10. Wowww! Amazing smallmouth! Great pics, great video, thanks for sharing!
  11. Thank you guys for the information! I'm already looking at set ups. I think I'm going to go with the BPS microlite suggested in the article and the Bob's bobbers. I've also seen that kit on BPS with the Punisher jigs and the fish dope that I might look more into. It's a ways off until I will try it, but it is exiting having a new technique to look forward to, especially in that cold water when the fishing can be so tough. Thanks again.
  12. Exactly. I've been throwing a 20ft Diving Crankbait for 4 straight days and haven't pulled one in over a 1 1/2 lb, plus my arm is about to fall off. Swim a jig in 15-20 ft of water or throw a drop shot and like J Francho said, wait until fall and you should have better luck with those fast moving baits.
  13. I'm thinking about getting a float and fly kit and trying it out in the fall. Does anyone have suggestions for this technique, or anything they can tell me about how they have done with it? Thanks
  14. X3 on the zoom Fat Albert Grub. I've had success rigging it on an arkie stand up jig head.
  15. X2!! I've caught more fish on a 4 inch straight worm wacky rig than any other set up.
  16. If there are areas of the pond with rocks that might be a good place to start. Maybe throw a tube or fish a tube on a drop shot to locate them.
  17. Thank You! good luck, it should be a wonderful day when you get one.
  18. I don't think you can go wrong by throwing a curly tail grub. A GYB Hula Grub has been doing really well in these parts.
  19. I'm so happy for you man, that's wonderful! My grandpa died before I was 3, but I know my passion comes from him and my grandma. I've got pictures of him holding a largemouth in 1939!
  20. Thank you gentleman! The color, the patterns, the eyes, the fight............love smallies!!
  21. Congrats! You may never be the same!
  22. Thank you guys! Highlight of my season!
