  1. And the time of the year for that part of the country. They just finished an Elite Serie Event yesterday in Florida and the majority of the fish caught in that tourney we're caught off the beds. As soon as I saw your fish, the condition of it's body and that you were from that area of the country, I knew it was a post spawn fish. Your lucky, our lmb prespawn hasn't even started, I think they just might be moving up slowly now.
  2. The body shows the signs of having gone through the spawn, it's just too skinny, and the head is so big. Beautiful healthy looking fish, hopefully she'll be around for some years to come.
  3. Nice! Looks like it has to be post spawn.
  4. My hair is thining, all I know is that when it gets to bad I'm shaving my head. I'll never have that Roman Wreath look.
  5. Next week I am buying two new Trojan batteries for my boat.
  6. I've bought a couple of packs of tungsten weights and the peg its. I'll experiment with the other things too, bobber stops seem like they would work well too. Thanks!
  7. I want to expand my soft plastic sinker arsenal beyond led bullet sinkers and toothpicks but I'm not sure which are best. I've looked at the screw in type sinkers and the tungsten sinkers and thought about useing those rubber pegging strips and can't decide. What do you guys like and think would be best?
  8. Third time this has been posted on our site! That female reporter say's "without parents or teachers teaching him how to react." What????? I think he reacted perfectly! >
  9. Wow! I think that kids leg snapped! Big Kid is strong!
  10. 4.29...........at least this is what he was rumored to have done at the 1970 combine.
  11. Ha Ha Ha, he's got Tigers blood man!
  12. I don't think I would have had the same restraint, it's better that you did though, especially kids that young. Their parents should be ashamed.
  13. A friend of mine had a fingerling in a small tank probably 10 gallons. He would drop whole night crawlers and goldfish in there and the largemouth would destroy them! He released it back to the lake when it was probably 10 times as big. Probably like a stocker trout at that point, no instinct to survive in a lake. To keep an adult or multiple adults I would imagine you would need quite a big setup and it might be alot of work.
  14. Brandon Palaniuk, sleeping in his truck and.............in 12th place! Love this guy! Go Northwest!!
  15. Thanks Big-O. I ask because I've got my flippin stick rigged with straight 50 lb braid and I've heard people say using the flouro leader can be more effective in situations. I've never had a a problem with straight braid, so I think I'll keep it that way.
  16. Safety should always be your first priority! Before I even leave my driveway I do a walk around when I think I'm ready to go, check lights, check trailer hitch connections and trailer straps, look at everything, do it a few times if you have to. Once you get to the launch........first and foremost be patient! You'll be a little slower at first if you don't have experience, don't let other people at the ramp cause you to rush and make a bad mistake. Make sure your drain plug is in your boat!!! Be legal, have registration, insurance and every safety device required by your state law, flares, horn, vests. Bring a good amount of water and some snacks. Ease your way into it. When I first got mine, I really "white knuckled" it for about a month (didn't go full throttle). Finally I would say, ask others with experience questions and if you can have someone come along with you. Most of all, enjoy it!
  17. Beautiful fish! Are you using a fluorocarbon leader?
  18. Gas prices along with other financial issues are making the season look a little more grim than I was hoping. Already locked in a big tourney for May with my partner, may not fish many others outside of that one. You know what though, worst case scenario, I'll go to a beautiful little lake with selective gear rules that has a ton of bass and rumored to have giants, and fish from the shore. If the biggest of my problems this year are fishing less tourneys and from the boat less...I'm doing all right.
  19. The pond might be out of balance.
  20. Ha Ha Ha Ha..................please don' let my wife catch me writing this.
  21. I've launched without the plug with my wife and son in the boat, when I first got it.
  22. Is there any harm done to a 12V trolling motor by running it w/ a 24V system (2 12V batteries)? Is it beneficial in any way?
  23. My wife thinks I must me less of a fisherman because I have and buy so much tackle. She says "if you were good, you wouldn't need all that stuff." Ha Ha Ha......new boat is going to be a tough sell....
