Live bait such as shiners and shad are pretty pricey around here. But feeder mice (like the kind you would feed a snake) are CHEEP live 2 bucks for 12 so how would they do and how would you hook them?

You're cheap and desperate. You have asked a lot of good questions lately but this one stinks. JMHO

i dont see how that could be humane fishing with a mouse. especially hooking them.

It's OK to use a hook and drive it through a shiner in order to impale a bigger fish that you are probably going to just throw back, but using a mouse is somehow worse?  

Mice are vermin.  I say try it.  At worst you waste a couple of bucks and kill a mouse - something if you found in your house you'd set a trap for anyway...

blacks and browns with white bellies works for me!! And I like to use a 5/0 hook rigging them weed less

I dont mind about it dying, but IMO its inhumane. i wouldnt do it personally just because they are a mammal and it would be a bloody mess. I know i couldnt hook a mouse, idk about you. It just seems so wrong. JMHO

One question: Why?

There's something very wrong, inhumane, and disgusting about the very thought of it.  I cannot allow this thread to continue with a clean conscience.
