I'm 15 and have been fishing my whole life. I haven't fished that many tournaments, but I fish about every weekend. Do you need a resume of tournament wins to be sponsored, or can you fish tackle from a company a lot, where logos, etc. during local tournaments? Any idea of what companies sponsor for junior anglers?

 Companies are going nuts sponsering young anglers. Just ask my sister, lol. She has more sponsers than she new what to do with. Resumes of not just your fishing accomplishments but school and communtiy service. Most want a "well-rounded" kid. And of couse, they will send you shirts, patches, hats, everythign so YOU can advertise for them. And dont be affraid to even go after bigger companies and a variety of different companies. At 15, I was paying hardly anything for line (Triple Fish), rods (St.Croix), and jigs, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits (Lunker Lure/Hawg Caller). Also a bait/tackle store is good. I went after companies that I spent a lot of $$$ with because I would be able to save and fish more tournaments with a higher entry fee. But it isnt just advertising at local tournaments, you might have to to seminars and expo's. My little sis is getting a free ride to the Classic this year to work a booth for one of her sponsers. But imo, that isnt work, lol.

Wow, that is good news! I have a 4.0 GPA. That might help me get sponsors.

Anything is possible, she just turned 16 too, still has a whole career ahead of her.

Does Pflueger or All Star offer field or pro staff sponsorship, or is it just for professional's?

Another note, there are certain companies that wont sponser you until your the age of 18 or 21.

One thing I would like to add is don't go to every lure,rod, reel, boat, ect. company and sell them the same speech.  Only go after the companies that you have confidence in the products.  It makes selling and representing their products soo much easier.  Most people hate sellouts who are just making deals w/ anyone they can get to make money. The articals RobbyZ5001 suggested are awesome and they have helped me a lot in getting the sponsers that I am grateful to have.  

I agree with the above poster.  Don't go around looking for any sponsor you can get, just inquire in the companies who's products you use and have confidence in.  Also when you send them a resume, don't just make it like a job application.  Tell them what it is that you can/will for their company.
