Dunkin's podcast
I know Ben Milliken does this as well. He's mentioned it before.

BPT Stage 3 - Raleigh NC
That was tense! Personally I was pulling a bit for Wheeler to swing on one of those spots he was running and gunning towards the end, but that was still awesome. Catching that 8'lber on a frog must have been so much fun. Can't wait to see what they do on Lake Chickamauga!

Best Budget Fishing Line
I buy Red Label off Amazon in big spools almost every year and love it. By far my favorite "budget" line.

New St. Croix Rip-n-Chatter Glass Rods

New St. Croix Rip-n-Chatter Glass Rods
Did anyone else check these out at the Classic this week? I'm not in the market for the $260 Legends rod, but I'm thinking of getting one of the Mojo Bass versions for $160. I always have at least one rod dedicated to a chatter bait or some form of swimming jig and this is made for that. I would imagine it would also work for fishing square bills shallow no? Either way just seeing if anyone else took a look and what their thoughts are. Might have to get myself a "the ice is melting in lower Michigan" present. I'm sure my wife knows I celebrate that holiday every year....

Any michigan guys here
Been out in Oakland 4 times now, Pontiac/Cass/Maceaday/Pontiac since I live within 3 miles of all of them. All after work for only a few hours but I still haven't caught a bass... Idk if it's me or the fish guys, but talk about frustration. Not going to stop me though, heading out again a few more times this week weather pending.

Lake St. Clair Boating Regulations/Rules
So Lake St. Clair falls under the same category as the Great Lakes? I think that was the debate that none of us knew the answer to, since it isn't a Great Lake. Half of us thought it still followed the same rules since it was connected on both sides by the Great Lakes. Thanks for the quick response!

Lake St. Clair Boating Regulations/Rules
Hello all, I'm curious about any and all rules/regulations that I need to follow for my upcoming Memorial Weekend trip to Lake St. Clair. I was passively talking about it with some other anglers last weekend but none of us were sure of the exact letter of the law. What do I need for my 19' bass boat? I know I'll need a throw-able and one life vest for each member on my boat, so 3 life vests and a throw-able. Do I need a ship-to-shore radio and flares? Someone thought I also needed an anchor and 100ft of rope. I can't find a clearly laid out list of exactly what I need anywhere it seems, so any help in pointing me towards what I will need to bring would be super appreciated. Need to make sure I have everything before the big weekend gets here. Thanks!

Fished most of the day yesterday on Pontiac Lake. Threw darn near everything in the boat between my fiance and I. Only left with one pike and a sun burn. Saw a lot of boats out but didn't see anyone catch any that I noticed. Not sure if the water temp and the lake being way up had anything to do with it. Long day on the water though.- Best Trolling Motor Batteries
I would like to piggy back on this thread as I'm looking for some battery replacement options. I have two size 31 flooded cell Deka Marine Masters currently that are dying a quick death. I keep them in the boat over the winter, but it's garage stored and the batteries are on a maintenance charger, so I don't think that killed them. They were in the boat when I bought it two years ago and the guy I bought it from was an extreme power fisherman, so they were abused. I know last time I did any research it was very popular to buy some from Sam's Club I believe? Just curious as to what the go to 31 size batteries are right now for the $100-150 mark. Thanks!- What's with the new site sponsor announcement
The last two comments before mine don't seem to fit with the topic? Did they get posted over here by some site/forum error? Strange. Either way glad to see Favorite on board. They seem like a good up and coming company and they are definitely hitting the YouTuber community hard which I think is genius. That's a market a lot of companies are not hitting focusing on enough right now. I wonder if Favorite will be down at the Classic Expo? I'd like to get my hands on some of their rods in person to see what they're all about.- Uncharacteristically Warm Winter? What Season is it?
I drive by a few lakes every day to and from work and I'm watching the ice very very carefully. As soon as that sucker is gone the Ranger is going in the water. If I wasn't going to be gone this weekend I'd probably go out to St. Clair or the Detroit River for sure.- Show your ride...
Just updated my thread asking questions about when I went to look at it. But I am the proud 3rd owner of a 1994 Ranger 482VS Bassmaster Classic edition. There were only 52 of them made for the Classic and I have #52. Someone on ***. forums has #51 I believe so I think it's kind of cool that it's so rare. Updated the trolling motor and all the electronics since those pics were taken. Hoping to re-carpet after the wedding next spring.- 1994 Ranger 482Vs
Super late update since I forgot I made this post. I BOUGHT IT. I didn't get to use it a ton the first summer because I was living in an apartment in Metro Detroit, but my fiance and I got a house a little further away and it fits perfectly in the garage. She may have been a little annoyed at me bringing a tape measure to every showing to make sure the garage was suitable :P. So last summer I got to use it quite often. It's nice to be able to get home from work and be on the lake within 5 minutes, I picked a good spot to live. Here she is. The only thing I've really done is switch out the trolling motor and upgrade all the electronics at the Spring Classic sale last year. Motor starts up right away every time and she runs perfect. Going to hopefully do a re-carpet, get the bubble vinyl decals reprinted, wrap or paint some of the faded vinyl, and do a protec rotation on it once the wedding is paid for. But she looks pretty darn good the way she is- Gloves for sun protection
Thanks for all the great responses! As someone who almost never gets sunburn even though I hardly wear sun protection, I figured I'm not getting any younger and there's no reason not to be more proactive. I saw some saltwater YouTuber have to get a chunk cut out of his back a few years ago and realized I don't want to ever have to go through that. I'll likely buy a pair of the ones I linked seeing as people here have used them and enjoy them. Maybe check out a Buff branded or Columbia one too. I'll have to swing by the Columbia outlet store I have nearby to see if they have any in stock.- Gloves for sun protection
I plan on hitting the fishing much harder this year since me and the fiance are all settled in the new place and I'm surrounded by lakes and short drive from St. Clair. One thing I really want to do as well is pay much more attention to skin care than I have in the past. I have some long sleeve "fishing" shirts that should do a pretty good job keeping the sun off me, as well as a neck gator. I'm in the market though for a decent pair of gloves to keep the sun off my hands during some of the more brutal days. I found these on Amazon and they seem decently reviewed. I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with this pair or suggest any other brands?- Bass Fishing Blasphemy
Maybe this isn't too crazy. But I'm never thrown a drop shot. I'm waiting for the Spring Classic sale to specifically buy a setup that I will 100% dedicate to drop shotting this year. I recently moved to the Metro Detroit area and there are tons of lakes with lots of rec boaters so I think it can be super useful to learn.- Show your ride...
Ahh I see you also followed my route of getting a bass boat before a tow vehicle- Do You Consider Pike A Nuisance?
When me and my dad were fishing weekday Bass tournaments, all the small ones I couldn't stand. There are so many in my area that I won't even think of buying expensive cranks or jerk baits for fear of losing them so often. I didn't mind catching a pig tho and putting it in the critter pot and winning a few $$$. Basically fun fishing I'm ok with them. Come tournament time, they could disappear and I wouldn't mind haha.- Forget Catching Tires Or Boots...
Didn't hook it, but there is a main river that flows into one of the Great Lakes where I live. After big rain storms it's always full of interesting things floating by. The most memorable one was the baby stroller bobbing down the river. I stayed far away from that one, I certainly did not want to find out if something was in it.- What Foods Do You Snack On To Get You Through A Fishing Day?
I'm a big fan of nuts or granola bars. Something that's going to give me some energy with little effort. Mostly water and poweraid other than that. The occasional PB&J is a nice change. Sometimes those protein shakes that come already in the bottle are a good thing I can chug quickly too. Don't want to take too much time away from the fishing.- 1994 Ranger 482Vs
It's the second boat here. Funny another 482VS just got listed that's a little newer, but the second one that I'm looking at is only like 1/2 hour from my house so that's why I'm so interested. I'm meeting him at a local lake tomorrow to take it for a spin and give it a good look through. If everything goes well it should be mine beginning of next week .- 1994 Ranger 482Vs
Thanks for the input on the motor. I talked to the seller on the phone and he basically said he has always been super happy with the motor. I can't look at it until Thursday due to scheduling conflicts but I'm super excited after talking to him. This could be my first bass boat purchase! - Any michigan guys here
