  1. I am looking at buying a spinning combo soley for shaky head and finese worms and such. What does everyone here use to throw these baits as far as rod type and line?
  2. Exactly! I wish I had one last year when I was practicing for the Classic for our club. We fished a lake FULL of stumps as far as the eye can see, and there are some that are on channel edges and I would love to have seen what was down there.
  3. I haven't ever heard anything bad about it. I'm sure if you're in a clear lake you shouldn't have any problem with it. I might even think about picking one up at that price. I'd like have one when I'm practice fishing for tournaments just to check out structure that I want to fish.
  4. I have to wear a hat or something on my head. I always re-tie whatever I have tied on because I'm afraid the knot got weak overnight. I always have a horny toad tied on, no matter what.
  5. I love the picture with the dogs . My family has a black lab and she's great on the boat. We haven't taken her on the new bass boat yet but I'm sure she'll just sit on the back half and watch us, or take a nap probably. She gets warm sometimes though and hides under the console lol.
  6. Largemouth 5 1/2lbs and Smallmouth 4 1/2lbs. I'd like to break my PB fishing with badhabit in Orlando in a couple weeks . I'd also like to catch at least a 7 in Michigan because they can be hard to come by.
  7. Thanks guys. Yea I am a huge fan of Toyota and all their products so if I could find a nice Tacoma that would probably be my sale. I wouldn't mind a Nissan Frontier either. Cost is going to be a huge issue since I'm only going to be a college grad in about a year or so, all depends on the job market. And as anyone knows, Michigan is not good for jobs.
  8. Now after reading these posts and a couple PM's with badhabit I am very excited. Sounds like it's going to be a good time. Dave seems likes a really great guy and I am looking forward to meeting him. OH...and catching my first Florida bass and sending pics of it back to my freezing cold Dad in Michigan lol.
  9. Is it just me or were colors in the 90's just plain ugly lol.
  10. I'm not quite sure that would even fall under the sort of good gas mileage field lol. I looked at some full size single cab trucks that got just over 20 mpg highway which isn't terrible. How do you guys feel about diesels?
  11. I'd be pulling anywhere from a 18' to a 20' Fiberglass bass boat. I'm not sure about the ramps exactly since I fish a very diverse variety of lakes. I'm sure having optional 4x4 would be a nice.
  12. With my vehicle getting older and just collecting the miles I am starting to think about my next purchase. While my vehicle is still a reliable everyday driver, it can't pull a rig, at least not the rig that I want. I wont be purchasing for probably over a year or so but I still would like to be prepared for when the time comes. I was looking for something that will be a decent amount of gas mileage, seeing as gas prices aren't going to be getting better. I know a friend of mine has an Envoy and really likes it. Any other ideas?
  13. I've only caught a couple and they were both by accident.
  14. I take it she didn't have the child on that day because I don't think you would still be alive.
  15. The bass in my avatar is a 4 3/4 pounder about. I was teaching my new girlfriend how to bobber fish with a mini little circle hook and I caught him. I've hooked a couple well over 5+ but never landed them .
  16. Seriously, you guys rock. I have gotten more offers in the day and half on these forums than I ever thought I would in a life time. It just goes to show the passion that fisherman share. Anyway I think not bringing my poles would be the best option. I'll be sending you a PM badhabit.
  17. ...you are going on Spring break in Florida with your girlfriend and her family, and instead of spending with them, you are looking for someone to take you fishing.
  18. 4 1/2 at our Club's Classic in October.
  19. short. plain and simple. or if I need one to fill the live well and it ends up being an 1/8 short...some sort of profanity lol.
  20. Welcome! I am new too and this is by far the best site I have found for everything Bass Fishing. And the forums and all the members that post on them rock.
  21. Yes, I believe it was last year that they finally changed it so you can have a weight below the hook, but only on inland lakes and rivers. It's still illegal on the Great Lakes and any connecting waters unless they revise it for this year. A friend of mine fishes a lot of tournaments on either the Great Lakes or connecting water and what he does is ties a jig on below the drop shot hook which makes it legal. It may look silly, but it's not against the law.
  22. Living on the Saginaw Bay part of the Great Lakes zebra mussels have changed the fishing even in the short amount of years I've been fishing it. While the numbers of walleyes seems to be up, the size is far, far down from what it used to be. I remember when I was about five going out with my dad and his friends and catching large numbers of large fish, now it's just large numbers of eaters, which there is nothing wrong with good eating fish, sometimes you just wanna catch a biggin.
  23. I can't seem to find it anywhere either. It's not one of his better moments though for sure. It just shows how frustrated people can get when they make a small mistake that can cost them thousands of dollars. I still like Iaconelli and everything and everything he stands for. I saw him at Bassmaster University one year and he missed his lunch to personally talk to every person and sign every autograph. He even had some guy whining at him because he was going to miss his flight to go practice for the Classic.
  24. That would be completely..well...awesome if you would let me do that. I have been trying to fish with as many other tournaments anglers as possible over the last year to pick up anything I can to help me with my prefishing for tournaments. I would be your complete and utter guinea pig so to speak if you want lol. ejtaylor, yea on the internet it says the hours are 6:30am - 11:00am. And it does seem really pressured, I imagine the week I'm there it will be pretty bad also since it's spring break for a lot of schools and there is a campground there, which I'm sure will be packed with kids and faimlies.
