Brutal day on the water! 30 mph winds and waves coming over the bow all day. 7 entries including myself for a total of 4 boats. Water temps had dropped about 8* from the previous week, which started out at 46 and a high for the day @ 51*. No fish in the boat until 10am, and the bite seemed to disappear as quick as is appeared, maybe lasting 30 minutes. I don't believe anything was caught up thight, though I know we all tried. Fished main lake points, flats adjacent to deep water and wind blown shorelines. Caught a 2.5 on on a baby minus 1 in sexy shad behind a wind blown point in 4-6ft of water. Dropped another in the 3lb range right @ the boat on the very next cast reaching for the net and thought that would do me in knowing 2 other boats had 2 fish a piece. Moved to the front side of that same point and landed another @ 2.6lbs. That was it for me for the day. Bassnri(bass resource) and his partner Bob dropped out around 11am due to battery problems with 2 fish in the livewell, sorry guys and wish you could have stuck it out. I beleive tbass as well as MatZZZZ all had to switch over to their back up batteries. Thankfully mine was brand new and lasted all day battling the winds. Though, the low batt alarm was going off at the end of the day. Paid out 1st and 2nd due to the low turnout.

Feel free to add your story to this thread guys.

1st)Myself: 2 fish @ 5.2lbs for the win and lunker @ 2.5

2nd) tbass/NEF,Joe and partner Chris: 3 fish @ 3.8 lbs

3rd) MattZZZZ/NEF,Matt and partner Ryan: 1 fish @ .25, way to stick it out and hang in there guys!

Bassnri/BR,Anothony and partner Bob. Dropped out: (Battery issues)

A big thank you to eveyone that showed up in their cartoppers with the 30 mph winds. It was great meeting everyone!

Hopefully we'll have better conditions and results for the Blackstone on the 26th.

See ya all there!

Had a great time at the 1st car topper tourney even though we had to drop out because of a bad battery. Just to clarify that so I dont feel like more of an idiot that I already do, LOL. The battery had only 1 full season on it but I did use it alot last year. I used a battery maintainer for the first time in 25 plus years of boating and it seems very weird that a batttery less than 2 years old was dead within a few hours of fishing. Just a word of advice, DONT USE ONE. I purchased it at Harbor Freight and it was supposed to be better than just leaving it alone all winter. I am almost positive that it ruined my battery as It was indeed fully charged and the water level in the battery was fine. I usually store the battery in the house and put a charge on it once a month or so but I thought I was doing good for it. Now I may be wrong but it all seems odd.

As far as the fishing, it was actually going pretty well. We had a nice fish in the boat within 10 minutes of leaving the ramp and another to follow not long after. We had some shorts inbetween as well. We were catching them in deep water, 8 feet, which is deep for Bellville. They came on black and red spinnerbaits slow rolled. Not even a strike useing a Lucky Craft pointer which I felt was very odd. Once I noticed the battery was giving out we had to leave our productive spot because of the 30+ mile an hour wind gusts and once we did we never got another bite. Morel to the story, Fish em deep cause its still cold.

Thanks to Paul for a good day and me and Bob are ready for The Blackstone! This time Im bringin' 2 NEW batteries!

Congrats to Anthony(Bassinri) and Bob on the win w/4 fish @ 7+ lbs! Extremely tough day on the river with only 5 fish being caught. I came in 2nd w/one fish and lunker @ 2.2lbs ;D

Ok, from this point foward, you must pre-register by pming me in order to fish any of the T's. The Noton T is next and there has been a lot of interest expressed. Once the ten boat limit is reached that's it. Unfortunately, if you show up at the ramp and the field is full, you will not be allowed to fish the T. Please revisit the rules on page one. No gas motors,  crawdad and jon boats 14' and under only. ;)

Once again me and my partner Bob L who hates computers and doesn't get on here, lol, had a great time.  f course winning didn't hurt  ;D . I agree with Paul as it was a tough day. We decided to stay in the big cove at the Blackstone and it took some time but it did finally pay off. The bite was still real slow in the morning even with the warm temps. We caught one early on but it took until after lunch to warm up but once it did it was hot. We figured that they would be moving into the cove to start staking their claim to where they are gonna bed and sure enough it paid off. All fish were caught in 1 to 2 feet of water. Basically the Lake Fork Magic Shad won the tourney. I am very impreesed with this bait and have been for a while. We spent a total of an hour on the river and just didn't think it was the place to be. Granted we didn't catch and 3 or 4 pounders but it was so tough we felt 1 and 2 would do it. Thanks to Paul for setting it up. Looking forward to Norton. Anthony.

Unfortunately, there has been a dramatic change in my schedule. Between working two jobs and taking on a third, being enrolled in three different schools as well as volunteering on the weekends, I will no longer be able to fill my obligations for the tournaments and are cancelled. My appologies to anyone who was looking forward to them and already signed up. ;)
