Lightninrod
Went to my boss's ponds today. Started fishing about 11 AM with Bluebird skies, 70 degrees, clear water and a little wind made it tough. Caught a couple of dinks from the bank and then put the boat in. I had a Pointer tied onto a 'new'(both rod and reel bought used) rig. Hooked one in 10' of water and had her to the boat when 4 or 5, 3-5 lb Bass were all over her, trying to grab the bait out of her mouth. One Bass smashed her, trying to eat the Pointer. If I'd have had a partner, he/she could have dropped a bait and hooked a nice Bass. The one I caught was a 3 lber. Caught a 2 lber on the Pointer and a few dinks in the same pond. Then I went to the bank-only, smaller pond and caught 8 or 9, 1 lbers or less plus a 1/15, all on the SS plus a Bluegill on the Pointer. 3 lbs, 6ozs Same 2 lbs, 2ozs Bluegill 1 lb, 15 ozs Dan
Low_Budget_Hooker
I had one trying to pillage a free meal from the one I was reeling in the other day. Sure gets you excited when you see aggression like that!

NJfishinGuy
looks like those fish need to eat a little, kinda skinny huh?
Craw
Nice pics. I had a similar day here in Va. with that same model jerkbait in "pearl ayu." I was on the river fishing for smallies. Same conditions as yours though, mile high skies with lots of wind. Leaving now to go again!

Lightninrod
Thanks everyone for the 'looks' and the kind words . Ken: It must be the camera's angle or the fact that the 1 lber pic shows the entire fish. I weighed and measured each of them. Craw: I'd never caught a Bass on a Pointer before. I have a few of them but never fished them much but they wanted a 'bait fish' lure that day, even the little Bluegill . NJ: Yes, they are skinny and look underfed. My boss just recently started adding bait fish and placed two bait fish feeders on that pond so they will hopefully fatten up over time. He wants it to be a "big Bass" pond and so do I. Guest avid
I really like the way the pointer shimmered in the light. Was it Aurora Black. Just as an FYI, I like it when I can see the lure that caught the fish when people post pix. I'm glad you do. avid

I try to get the bait in each pic but positioning the boat with the sun in mind, wind, etc., I sometimes don't. Yes. it was an Aurora Black color.
