Finally Caught Something

Featured Replies

It's been at least two months since I've caught a bass, but I finally broke my cold streak yesterday. I went fishing on the Withlacoochee River near Madison and Lee here in FL. The bass I caught was small (about 12 in), but it was still fun and after going without a bass for so long I'll take what I can get. I caught it on my trusty black Zoom Trickworm t-rigged. I also caught a bluegill about a pound on a Rebel crawfish. It was kind of a slow day but I at least managed to catch two fish. I also got some decent pics for my art class because I like to paint landscapes, despite the fact that I fell into cold water and almost lost my camera  :-/, but overall it was a great day :).

I had to go swimming last week to rescue my boat that drifted out into the river while I was parking my truck. Water in the 40s!!!

Congratulations on breaking your fish-less streak. That Rebel Crawfish is one of the all time greats! I like those trick worms to.

Congrats.  I'm sure glad you didn't lose your camera.

Is the Withlacoochee still 'purty'?

Dan

Yep, it's still a really nice river and it's hardly ever fished so the fishing is pretty good. I always practice catch and release in this river so the fishing will remain good and hopefully even improve.

You didn't do the Fritts Flip did you? David Fritts feel in the water head first during a B.A.S.S tournament and only his feet were sticking out of the water. I seen that one one this past Saturday on a Bob Cobb Recast.

Haha, careful with that chilly water. Great job breaking the fishless streak.
